What I said was that the majority of people don't care very much about people's sexual preferences. Many people have negative thoughts but consider it to be nobody's business but the people involved.
There are a few thugs around who like to beat up gay people, but they would be beating them up for some other reason if they didn't have that one.
Actually, I was pointing out to Og that the US is much like the UK in this regard.
