Patrick just shook his head and smiled at her. "Best of luck then, I'll see you tonight, drinks in memory of Sasoni tonight." He left and got back in the car driving off towards his place.
Brodie woke up with a sense of excitement. He looked at his clock-- 3 am. It was time. He had been working night and day on the 3000GT, and tonight was the first real test. Brodie had intended to take his time with the car, making sure everything was perfect. But since he had earned a spot in Kyra's new garage, he knew that he needed to start producing sooner rather than later.
Brodie had done everything to the VR4 that he could imagine: carbon fiber wherever possible to shave weight, aluminum racing heads, upgraded six-speed tranny, twin turbos pushing 9psi each and intercooled to keep from burning out, and the most advanced engine management system on the market. He hadn't dyno tested the car, but he estimated close to 700 horses, without spraying. To top it off, he had tweaked the suspension and stiffened the frame to keep the car stuck to the road. For the test, Brodie was going to run the same course that he had run for Kyra to get a spot in II2. If he had done well enough in the Cobra, then he expected to blow that time out of the water.
Brodie left the townhouse and headed onto the street. He juiced the pedal as he turned a corner, and a shiver went down his spine as all four tires of the VR4 bit into the asphalt, pinning him into his Recaro seat.
"Holy shit!!" he said out loud. "This is going to be one hell of a ride."
Shila watched as the guy left the shop. Kyla was alone there now. She summoned all her courage and walked bravely inside.
"I am hoping you could help me. I want to be part of this" she said raising her arms and spinning round.
SHe looked a bit foolish but, the money she held inside her pants pocket made her giddy. She could have a car now, she could race now. She could be like the others now.
Kyla looked at the woman who had just entered theshop with a bit of confusion. "You want to be a part of II2?". Kyla looked outside the front window of II2 and blinked slighty. "Do you even have a car? You want to join my garage without a car?". Kyla thought for a moment. She could use a good rookie driver to mold but this girl not having a car presented a problem. She smiled a little, "You show up here with a decent car and I'll see what I can do for you."
((Sorry if my post sucks and if there's typos. I'm on my sidekick lol))
"Look I have money. I need help. Sasoni was my only friend and she helped me. Now she is gone and I need help. Please, I want to race, I want the feelings of elation it brings. I want to be a good person. I just need help" Shila said and pulled the money from her pocket and shoved it towards Kyla.
The look she had was one of pure fear. This was as close as she had come to another human in a long time. Now, here she stood, hopeless, helpless.
