The Stranger (Closed for heartofcourage)

"Well, it looks like you're intent to spoil me." Jen said with a grin as he offered her some porridge with butter and sugar and a nice cup of coffee. "And I might be in the right mind to allow you to do that. I need someone in my life that will spoil me whenever I want it."

He chuckled as he sat down, "The problem with spoiling people when they want it, is that they become accustomed to it and then want to be spoiled all the time."

He sipped on his coffee, "One of the reasons I don't work well with tourists. But so far I must admit that your group have not given me a lot of hassle."

He watched the crew and staff getting their food and settle down for breakfast, it was quite nice to actually sit with people and having only one person who wanted to talk to him. The fact that she was drop-dead gorgeous and had a fantastic personality of course helped a lot. It had been a long time since he actually enjoyed company like her own and of course the previous night had gone much better than he could ever have dreamed of.

"Well, I will make it my mission for the rest of my time here to not give you any hassle." Jen said with a grin as she started in on her breakfast. She was starving and she was pretty sure that what they had done the evening before had a large part to play in that.

He smiled at her, relaxing in his chair as he watched her eat. Even though the evening before was still fresh in his mind, he could not help the thoughts of what he could do with and to those lips of her's. He finished his coffee and placed the cup down, then got up and fetched himself a plate of food. He sat down with a bottle of water and started eating as well.

"If you keep looking at me like that, everyone is going to know what we did." Jen said with a grin as she caught Dave staring at her from across the fire. "Not that I regret anything. I just thought that you might want to keep things on the downlow for a while."

"Well I don't think they will catch on that fast. So far I am just a star struck Ranger who is doing his level best to keep people alive while they do their own work."

He finished with his food and got up, holding his hand for her dishes and then walking over to the washing area to clean up their plates. On return the producer snagged him for talks about their next few shoots and the best places for it.

Jen chuckled as Dave talked about simply being a star struck ranger trying to keep people alive. He was doing a very good job at it, but she would never tell him that. Keep him on his toes, she thought to herself as she finished breakfast.

Once everything had been put away and she caught a shower, she moved to explore around the camp. It was an interesting place, much different from the city. She found it a little quaint in some ways and incredibly beautiful and comforting. She could have spent her entire life there and never felt a day of boredom.

Dave kept an eye on Jen as she moved around the outskirts of the camp.

OK so he liked looking at her, that much was true. What also was true, was that she was right, without the flirty banter they have had between them up until yesterday, the more observant of the cast and crew might actually catch on as to what happened between them.

He mulled over that particular problem as the producers went over their maps and planning for their next series of shooting

Jen wanted to explore and use her day off to the best of her advantage. The scenery, the animals...it was all absolutely beautiful. She dared to go a little bit further away from the camp, just walking among the scenery and trying to memorize every little detail.

Since the producers wanted to check out the locations marked on the map, he had to leave with them. He once again remembered the group remaining behind that they had to stay together and never wander off alone. Which reminded him about Jen.

He moved out of the camp and quickly found her where she walked, looking around and practically exploring. He shook his head and walked after her, since she wasn't really walking purposefully, he caught up with her soon enough. When he reached her, he plopped his hat on her head, "You really like to go wandering off alone don't you? You should remember to apply some sunscreen and to wear a hat."

He gave her a grin and noticed that they were quite out of view from the camp as well.

"Why would I want to when you're more than happy to share yours?" Jen asked, looking at him with a grin as he placed his hat on her head.

"Oh I have no problem sharing, but I will not always be around to protect your pretty face from the sun and watch your sexy posterior from a safe enough distance to keep it from harm."

He grinned and took her hand closest to him, drawing her closer to him, "So you going with us to check out the locations for the next shoots?"

"You think I'll say no to an offer like that?" Jen asked, tipping the hat back further on her head. "I'm not about to let you go off and have all the fun. I want to see what there is to see out here in the great wide wilderness."

He smiled and leaned in to kiss her gently, holding the kiss for a few moments before straightening back up and snaring his hat, with a grin, "Well then you better get cracking, sun is only growing warmer and we have a long enough drive ahead of us."

He placed the hat on his head and gave her a wink, before turning towards camp

"I suppose I'll have to go get a hat and water before I can go." Jen said as he stole his hat back and gave her a wink before he started off towards camp.

She laughed softly and started off after him, stopping by her spot to grab a hat, a lighter jacket to protect her arms, and a few bottles of water. Then she went to find where the rest of the crew that was going out was meeting.

Dave had just finished prepping the vehicle they would be taking when Jen showed up. Doing a quick look around, he found that they were waiting for two more members of the crew to join them. He leaned against the front of the vehicle and crossed his arms as he listened to the plans of the director

Jen loaded up in the front seat of the truck, waiting for the director to finish his discussion about the places he wanted to see. She could see that Dave was a bit bored, but perhaps he would liven up when they were actually out and exploring. He seemed to be so comfortable out there in the hot sun, living on his own with the occasional person to help.

"Cheer up. We're about to explore one of your favorite places." She murmured as he finally slipped into the driver's seat.

He gave her a smile and whispered back, "Favorite yes, but not the one at the top of my list."

He gave her a wink and slipped on his sunglasses, then unlocked the lock to the secured rifle on his side and started up the vehicle.

"All right everybody, hope you brought water along like your star here, I only packed food."

He engaged the gear and in a few moments they were heading away from the camping area and into the bush veld.

Jen chuckled as he told the others that they should have brought their own water before he started off on their journey. She looked out the window, taking in the sights that she would never have seen anywhere else. The city didn't hold a candle to the calm beauty that she was seeing now.

As they drove along, Dave pointed out interesting natural occurrences, the results of flash floods, veld fires, migrations. As they approached watering holes, he would slow down enough to point out animals resting in the shade and at times stopped the vehicle for some of the larger animals to actually pass in front of them.

It took them just more than two hours to reach the first spot, he pulled to a stop and as they all disembarked, Dave got out and pulled the rifle from the inside as well, holding it at port arms as he watched the crew doing their tests and taking photos.

Jen decided to stay close to the truck, sitting on the hood to look around the surroundings. She was talking the moment to take in everything, smiling the entire time. It was quiet, save for the sounds of the director and his crew talking. She took pictures with her camera every so often, but it was just a moment to sit and exist.

Dave made sure that nobody wandered off, also he checked their surroundings, but all seemed well. He didn't relax though, he knew how stealthily danger moved in the field. Every so often his gaze would find Jen and favor her with a slight smile, then return his attention to their surroundings.

About an hour later the director came over and discussed another location with Dave. It called for a river and a pool, perhaps a waterfall. Dave knew of a location, but it would take days to move the equipment. But turned out that they needed the location more than anything, so Dave got them all into the vehicle and they were off.

"Hope you guys and gals ate enough, if we want to make it before dark we can't really stop."

"Trust me, I'll let you know if I get hungry." Jen commented, turning her head to give him a grin as they got back on the road again. "Besides, I'm the diva of this cast and I get whatever I want. It's in my contract."

He rolled his eyes and slipped on his sunglasses as he shifted into gear and started off with a chuckle. The drive got a bit rough as he drove along obscure tracks that were basically over grown and literally rarely used.

"Don't worry folks, the roads from the camp to this spot is not anything like this. This is a shortcut to save time."

They only stopped to allow a family of elephant to make their way across the roadway. They made it to the spot he had in mind and he switched off the vehicle and turned to face the group inside the vehicle.

"Well your time is a bit limited. I will urge you to have a look, but once it gets too dark, I am pulling out and taking you all with me."

"You're so bossy." Jen said with a chuckle as he mentioned pulling out with them in a limited time. "Let them have a little bit of fun."
