The Story With the Most Surprising Score.

Which story do you have here that people did not react to as well as you'd have liked. I know there might be more than one, but which one above all else, was judged lower than you'd hoped or even expected.

For me it's Lie Berries. This story has gotten very good response with the MC crowd elsewhere, but has only rated a 4.15 here. I'm not saying that's not fair, just below what I'd hoped.

I can live with -- okay, I can live with any score -- but my lowest rated story (3.94 for Season of The Witch) doesn't surprise me nearly as much. I don't fixate on scores, but when I check I always think, "Hmmmm, wonder why that one didn't do better."

On the other hand, that Wrapped is my highest rated score( at 4.81) also surprises me. I liked the story when I wrote it, but I never considered it my best. I think the romance catagory helped.

Placing in the wrong category can be deadly.

Mine is the Yacht Club Cunt story linked in my signature. It's in Group Sex, but the cognoscenti over there tell me Group Sex people like their groups to be enthusiastically into a group scene. They like happy orgiasts. Whereas my group is a blackmail situation, and would have done better, perhaps, in Non-Consent.

The E for "Will" floored me. One of the happiest moments of my life. I think it's some of my best work, but I was very worried about that story. There are so many ways it can be read wrongly, and if read wrongly it's so antithetical to my own nature and ethics, that I hesistated a very long time before posting it. It's been a gratifying and immense relief that people have read it as I meant it.

Will rocked, kid. Good work. I do see the potential conflict you speak of, but the story speaks for itself. Just sayin'.

When I wrote Rideme Cowgirls story "she" had just come out of the closet and I'm fairly sure everyone knew it was me. I expected, and even told cloudy, that it would get the all time worst score in the history of Lit. I have been pleasantly surprised, it remains on of my most read, most commented on and highest scoring stories.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at any of my scores but:

My Nude Day entries Beach Protest (4.04) and Bastille Day (4.16) are lower rated than Rumple's The Touch Of Her Thigh.

"White Scut" has five complimentary (I think they are?) PCs but a rating of 2.97. OK, it's weird but I think it's a good story deserving better than that.

Two of my earliest stories, Stag Party and Hen Party, need rewriting but are they as bad as they are rated?

My only E is rated 4.11.

I think it shows that Og's stories have limited appeal.

The one I wrote that surprised me was a non-erotic ditty called "Run of Luck". The first surprise was to see it get the Editor's pick which I have to say tickled me pink.

The second surprise was the fairly poor rating, the non-erotic catagory gets lots less reads and normally higher voting.

Curious, I did a followup and that scored much higher, yet as I reread the 2nd chapter, I feel the first was better?

I think the toughest catagory is Exhibition and Voyeur, the reason of course is those scenarios must suit various specific tastes. I believe that is the reason, and I find writing those when I am in my female mood gets better ratings.

But even poor feedback is great when the poster explains why, the ones who just say "You suck!" don't help much.
