I hear it so often, "He is a good man, he's a Christian, you know?". Implying that he is good because he is a Christian.

I am sure you have seen this. This pastor who wrote a mean comment to a waitress, and then when exposed, is more worried about her reputation than the fact she was nasty and cost someone her job.

Why is is that just because someone is religious, it is assumed that person is a good person? All being 'religious' means is that someone is a member of a man-made organized group. It has nothing to do with being spiritual, having a relationship with The Creator, and possessing a natural respect for other living beings.

Some of the nastiest people are religious. In fact, organized religion is a favorite place for evil people because they see it as a way to disguise their nature and in some cases, control others. I am not meaning to say that there are no kind people that are members of a religious group. But I do say that they are not kind because they are members, they are kind because it's their nature to be.

That's said about good Christians not about everyone who claims to be. I know you're an idiot but come on. At some point you must have some sort of semi-intelligent thought about something. Anything.

Isn't it sad when people feel the need to defend religion to the point that they sound as dumb as this?

I've never heard it used the way you claim.

If you're doing business with a religious son of a bitch, get it in writing. His word isn't worth shit, not with the good Lord telling him how to fuck you on the deal. ~ William S Burroughs.

And here is where I part company with most Christians who are bigots. They forget and choose to ignore the fact that Jesus was a rebel against the hierarchy of organized religion.
