The Space Between

The kiss spiraled them together in a stolen moment. Long heartbeats of shared passion. As he broke the kiss to catch a breath, it left their faces just inches apart. She was settled between his spread legs know, where he had pulled her as they were lost in that passionate first kiss, arms around him for balance. His hands slid deep into that lovely hair as his eyes reflected his smoldering desire for her. A fire that was well restrained. He demonstrated with his every touch that though he wanted to throw her down and ravage her, he would never just give into those animal instincts. He would treat her like the woman she was, respect her, never just use her.

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered before letting his lips explore hers yet again, hands in her hair reveling in its softness. This second kiss was just as passionate but more exploratory as his tongue gently parted her lips, seeking access to her mouth, urging her to open herself more fully to him. Even as he kissed her, the cat’s departure went unnoticed. The animal had sensed Miriam’s pain before, but it had no desire to watch the two mates, if that was where things were heading. Val was lost in Miriam. Nothing else in that moment mattered. This was more than a kiss, it somehow said in actions what they couldn’t with words, spoke of his desire for her, his need to protect and shelter her. His growing urge to make her his, in every way.
