I've been under quite a lot of pressure lately, and things haven't been all that wonderful for me, to be honest...

So... I was out running some errands and stopped at Starbucks and ordered a Caramel Macchiato. I'm addicted to them. The first sip is a small moment of pleasure for me in which other concerns are momentarily forgotten. This is a daily treat that I look forward to immensely.

The damn things cost nearly $4 (venti, baby, venti - wait a sec... venti means large, not small... still... *grin*) And I always tip at least $1, sometimes $2. A thank you to the people who work there for providing that small pleasure.

What small things in life bring you joy?

Small things ...

Which bring joy into my life are

* going out with my close friends & just hanging out.
* having a late breakfast (banana pancakes & hot coco ) with my man.
* listening to my 2yr old nephew as he goes on & on about what he did during his day. :)
* listening to my music & simply relaxing.
* going outside and feeling the warm sun upon my skin.
* my man calling me simply to tell me he loves me.

a cuddly purring kitty in my lap or at my feet...

socks warm from the dryer...

random messages on my answering machine from friends...

lotsa stuff :)

I love your AV - does that count?

Cuál es fútbol tiene que hacer con café?

My kids for all the silly reasons.
The first cup of coffee in the morning.
Getting up really early in the spring, walking out on my deck and seeing deer in the back yard.
Hearing the coyote young yipping for their mother late at night in the fall
Talks with close friends, the kinds that require not words.
A really good movie and a friend to share it with.
and so many more.

A cold morning spent on horseback. Hoofbeats the only sound.

Hot coffee with Irish whisky after a foxhunt

My kids crawling in bed with me on Saturday morning, just to snuggle

Old friends calling me out of the blue, just to catch up

Watching a colt take its first steps

My dogs running out to greet me as if I've been gone for months, and I've been gone for 10 minutes.

The smell of my youngest son, after a bath.
Warm socks from the dryer
curling up under my comforter after a long day
Listening to good music
A good movie
a eclair from the corner bakery (just one, not too often)

Dillinger, you'll never believe this...

As soon as I read the title of your thread, caramel macchiatos immediately popped into my mind as a small joy- I've just been introduced to them & have become addicted! And I whole heartedly agree with you about the first sip- I love the foamed milk! It's almost as good as an orgasm! I often make the 60 minute round trip to the closet Starbucks to quell my craving. I had to laugh when you had it as one of your small joys.

Anyway, other small things in life that bring me joy-

1. Pens that write smoothly
2. Thick cozy socks
3. Smelling nice
4. Fresh, clean, crisp sheets

Crawling into a bed that has fresh sheets after I've taken a bath and shaved my legs.

One of my residents telling me that they love me.

Cuddling with someone I love and trust.

My Man's cool hands on my naked back.

My Man coming to bed with me in the morning just so I fall asleep easier.

The smell of my daughter.

*watching my son sleep (so peaceful and innocent)
*a surprise phone call from that special friend
*a hot bubble bath in peace and quiet
*uninterupted quality time spent with any one of my friends
*having enough time to read a good book

I could make a list a mile long of the simple things that I treasure in my life.:)

What small things in life bring you joy?
........................... my cock.

No seriously, my son, cleaning my car, and fondling my Television.

~ Being woken up when my daughter climbs into bed with me for a cuddle
~ Fresh sheets
~ Making new tracks in fresh snow
~ The sound of a waterfall
~ The sound of childrens laughter

+ many many more - it's a great life sometimes

The goofy ecards my niece sends me. She is seriously addicted to bluemountain.com.

Hearing my sweetie's voice on my voice mail, just saying he loves me.

Holding my friend's little boy, he is nearly 2 & such a sweetie.

My kitty snuggling up with me, especially when I am home with the flu.

small things that bring me joy

when I see Drake's name on my msn. <although it doesn't feel small to me>

when my daughter smacks my hubby<she's 9 months.but I taught her that>

my clit

when I read a stream of consciousness about my eyes.called hazelnuts

ducks

seeing classic humour, spit takes, people getting smacked in the head, people falling down...I don't know ....but that shit screaaaaams funny....and makes me bubble with joy and monkey laughter

a tinklin' piano in the next apartment,
the stumbling words that told you what my heart meant,
a playground's painted swings, these foolish things . . .

gardenia perfume lingerin' on the pillow,
fresh strawberry's, seven francs a kilo,
the way that Ella sings, these foolish things . . .

My youngest daughter has a shyness complex but she expresses her feelings thru drawings. She's 11. Recently she lost her grandmother to cancer (my mother-in-law). Shinny stayed for a week with me to give her Mom a break. On the last day she presented me with a picture of a bird and a girl. Written on it was
"Dad, thank you for letting me stay this week and being there for Me. I love you Daddy"
I broke down and cried, it touched me so much. Thats the most precious gift anyone has ever given Me. Its been laminated and hangs on the wall by the PC, (I'm looking at it now and tears are welling again) - it gets me everytime.
Its the most precious gift that I have ever recieved and it didn't cost a cent. Kids, thats the most precious gift of all.

The Small Things In Life That Bring You Joy

The sound of the rain when I am lyin in bed at night

The look on my 3 year old nieces face when she sees me

My fist cup of uninterrupted coffee in the morning

The sound of BigDawg’s voice coming over the phone line to me ... sends the butterflies in motion...

That moment, right before a terrific rain storm

Swimming late at under the stars

Reading a great book in a bubble bath

Small things...

a glass or 2 of aged port after a horrific day at work...I'm enjoying that right now! Thank God it's Friday!

Today

Today, it was a phone call and possibly the beginning of a new friendship all on a cold day in Michigan. *smile*

The cold side of the pillow.
When my apartment is clean.
The funny smile on my dog's face when he's scratching his ear.

A few small things:

Driving to work and seeing a beautiful horizon.
Big fresh, body-length bath towels.
Toilet paper, have you ever had to use the coffee filters? Ick.
My new car, even though it's a big thing. I don't have to worry about stalling out, or what I'd do if a tire fell off.
Seeing bf's cute little tushie sticking out of the covers in the morning and giving him a big kiss on the cheek. No, not that cheek, the one by his mouth!
