Beastie Boys Sabotage kept running through my head early this morning. So I turn on MTV, and within a half an hour, it comes on. So now I have to figure out how often, on average, MTV plays that song, and start turning on MTV every time I have a song running through my head for a while to work up some statistics...
It would be less work and more fun just to believe in telepathy or precognition. Probably no data available on how often MTV plays any particular song, anyway. Maybe if I start learning enochian ceremonial magic from Blackbird I'll know. What's a deconstructionist-materialist to do?

And if that isn't enough, how about Lin Kong Jing? (powerful empty force). Most people believe by now that martial arts work better than untrained, brute strength. At the top of many systems is pressurepoint work, often based on traditional chinese medicine, giving points and combinations of points to activate by various strikes that will achieve various effects (usually a knockout is the one worked toward).

Some top level teachers who've trained for years say they can, if not quite knock people out without touching them, at least disrupt their balance. Sounds like there's any number of tricks or psychosomatic effects that could cause an effect like that, but I've personally corresponded with quite a few very intelligent and experienced people who've had it done to them, and they all believe there's something going on there. What's up with our nice, orderly universe?

Well, if it's coincidence, it's one hell of a coincidence, because unless they were playing a "Best Videos Of The Nineties" show, MTV very rarely digs back in their archives during regular video time.

Of course, they hardly ever play videos anymore, but that's a discussion for another thread.

They were doing a "MTV2 on MTV" thing, which explains them actually playing videos.
But they weren't doing any kind of golden oldies segment, so it still doesn't explain Sabotage.

Think of the Bay City Rollers singing Shang-a-Lang

I bet MTV dont play it

Heh. I'll bet you're right. Of course, I kinda suspected that if there was any causality involved, it went the opposite direction. But given the nature of time, I guess it would be more likely that way. It'd be hard to get that one running through my mind, too. Well, all in the name of science...
