So I've decided what we need is a Lit situation room, ala my man Wolf Blitzer.

A Sportscenter, or Talk Soup, whatever.... where people like myself who are sometimes pressed for time and can't keep up with the BDSM board like I want to can come and receive highlights of the latest happenings.

I must remain in tune with the zeitgeist!

So, what's the word on the streets people?

Give it to me straight, I want it fair and unbalanced.

Lots of newish people asking all the "coming out/coming to terms with" questions...been fun and interesting to think about.

*shrug* dunno. haven't been here in a while. :)

Sorry to hear you don't have more information for us KC, we'll see what else comes in.

A popular issue here, as always.

I gotta tell you, I better be really inspired to post in one of those these days.

Lots of new posters; sadists still being sadistic, masochists still being masochistic; dominants being domly, submissives being submissive... ya know, stuff. The gauntlet thread that Rebecca started is kinda interesting, and there have been quite a few posts added to the B&W artwork thread.

So if someone says something funny here does that make it a situation comedy? :D

Never mind.

Wait - there is a difference between the Situation Room and Talk Soup. I can't speak to Sportscenter, however. Please clarify. What's my motivation?

I'm having a life crisis. But, to be honest, I'm hardly the only one.

The life crisis is what lit is all about!

Let's have it.

In a nutshell, liver is damaged, had to quit drinking/smoking/fast food, etc...

Green tea by the buckets. Lost 22 pounds, have to get skinny.

Doctors make the best sadists.

Here's Geoff's Situation (pulled in toto from my thread in the BDSM Personals forum):

Well folks, the collected, abridged "word from the physicians"...

Re: The diabetes - I'm doing VERY well. 3 months ago my endocrinologist finally bought into the idea that I could wean off the insulin. After 3 months of being insulin free - my a1c (longterm sugar level) was a 6.4. Normal for non-diabetics range is 5.5 - 6.5. WORD!

My endocrinologist was so impressed that she's taking me off Avandia, which is suspected of posing a very slightly higher risk of heart attack in patients with heart disease. She wasn't pulling that because of the heart risk, she doesn't like the way I'm retaining fluid and having swelling in my legs, and avandia does aggravate that issue. If the blood sugar levels start climbing we can go back on it or try other related drugs.

In the meantime she changed my glucophage scrip from 1000mg twice a day to 850 mg 3x. I'm down to one ORAL med, along with diet and exercise, to control the diabetes. WORD!

From my primary care doc:

My blood pressure is under control, the meds I'm on are working fine, no changes there.

Re: The Cholesterol - LDL was 110. WAY better than the 200+ it was last year. The doc is still wanting it down a bit so I'll try to eat better. In the meantime he's changed my Caduet scrip (which contains Lipitor) to a version with a higher dose of lipitor.

The rest of my blood work was dead on the money, triglicerides, kidney function, liver function, etc, AOK!

I'm overweight (Duh!) and he wants me to lose 25 lbs by next annual exam. We'll see. I could weigh 150 lbs and I think he'd still bitch about my weight. But I'll see what I can do. I'll aim for 225 for next year.

My prostate is slightly enlarged. I'm 45, he's not concerned, that's pretty normal. He wants me to start taking a multi-vitamin with folic acid. And for increased sexual function/health/stamina he's telling me to take 2g of L-arginine (a protein supplement) daily. Seems old prostates don't make enough of the stuff. Gave me a sample of Levitra to see if that turns Mr. Happy into SCROGZILLA *lol*

For my insomnia he prescribed Klonopin for me. janey (who is bi-polar) wants me to get some for her too... *LOL* Maybe it will knock my happy ass out at night and I can sleep better. We'll see.

And that dear friends, is the state of the body this year.

My crohns is doing well. I'm getting Humira injections now, which are helping in some ways and not in others. *sigh*

you'll be able to tell if i do anyways, because my posts will just contain 'errrr, bdddrrrr, drrrr'

I got new shoes. Asics. The company name ASICS is an acronym for the Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano" which translates into English as "Sound mind in a sound body".

Made in China by busy little communist hands.
