Who else here besides lovetoread and I are playing the Sims Online playtest?

My character hooked up with some roommates, and they all kind of disappeared so I'm left with their upgraded lot on the Blazing Falls server for free.

I need roomies :D

Note: I oddly ran into a property there today called "Ravenloft" with a player inside of it called Moridin. Hmmmm

I'm thinking about requesting The Sims for my birthday, but I dunno. I don't need another addiction.

I seriously hate you Angel.

ok... I don't hate you. But anyway, how does one get into the Sims online game?

I guess I should go to the sims webpage for more info? LOL

Me me me ... :grins:

I play mostly in Alphaville. But I do have character in Blazing Falls & that other city that starts with an "I".

They are all named Kira Tome.

I have been noticing that the starting skill speeds have changed. It seems to varie from property to property in Alphaville.

I believe the link is still there to get on to sign up. It takes a few weeks to get the CD's though.

I got an extra copy, my original was busted and they accidentally sent me two replacements, and when I told them, they told me to pass it on to a friend. I promised it to my cousin, but I was told that ALL playtesters also get another set of disks SPECIFICALLY to give to a friend and they are marked as such.

Sign up. If you don't get a set by the time I get my "Pass It On" disk, I'll send it to you.

Cool. Check your PMs, next time you're on Blazing Falls look me up :D Kind of hard to build on this huge lot with 8,000 bucks :(

I 'had' characters on Alphaville and Interhogan, but with the stupid Skill Decay crap I decided to just concentrate on my Blazing Falls character for now and retired the others.

If I'm reading it right.. I can download it free but if I order the disks I have to pay $5 shipping.

Is that right? I can download it.. and have Mr Freaky hate me tonight instead of next week?

You know this means I won't be getting sex for a few days.

oh god.. sex or the sims? It's such a hard decision.

*runs off to download the sims online*

:D

fuck!

I went to download it. It's on another site (not a sims site). So I go through the shit of signing up and getting ready to download the game.

For "subscribers" there is no wait.. for non subscribers there is a 90 minutes wait to even try to download the game.

So I think.. I'll subscribe. Can't be that much. Wrong! $59.95 a year. Which I guess isn't really that bad. I would probably download other games as well. But.. I don't want to spend the $59.95 right now.

So.. I either order the CD or I wait to see if I can download it for free.

This sucks! No Sims tonight. :(

I have a 66 minute wait for fileplanet.com (I'm number 554 in line.. damn.. talk about addiction. I'm waiting in a virtual line to download a game) ;)

If I don't get it downloaded tonight.. I'll try Kazaa tomorrow.

Ah well. When you're playing, we'll make a cool Litland Ranch.

hehe

How much money do you start off with?

Would it be better to move in with you or get a place of my own? Do I get to set my personality myself? What if I move in with you and hate you or you hate me?

Oh jeez.. this is so real life like. LOL

How much is the Sims Online going to cost? Is it a monthly fee?

Freaky, you're so fucking cute.

You start out with $6,000. Which isn't even enough to build a tiny shack with a toilet, bed, sink and food. Which is why I moved into an established home.

There are 'skill' and 'job' objects. Some are solo and some are group. You make money using them. The group objects make more.

Once you have a house up and running, you also get a daily 'visitor' bonus, and players often give you tips in a tip jar.

Unlike the regular sims, you don't set personality traits. Just your looks and your name :)

If you move in, you're not stuck there forever. You can eventually move out when you have enough saved up and get your own lot, or if our sims hate each other and you find somewhere cooler to live, you and anything you bought for our property would go with you :)

Right now, what I do is visit other lots, build my skills and use objects that I make money from. Get to know people and make money so I can save and make my currently plain lot nice.

Right now its in beta, so its free. I believe they are currently saying that once the game is released it will cost $10 a month. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay once the game is live, but I like it right now so I may.

If I don't stay, at least I had fun testing :)

is it better than the normal game? i was addicted at first, but found it kinda boring later..
