Update

Girls are ok in Mobile. Son was last talked to yesterday.... house was underwater but water was receeding. Since then have lost all contact. There is no way to find out what is going on. Girls can not get back in to MS coast.
As you can see, much damage and expect death toll to raise into the hundreds. Friend of mine said he they are finding bodies jammed into trees. Anything along the coast... homes or anything is either seriously damaged or gone. Many without homes or places to work. It will take MONTHS for life to get back to normal in this area.....
The prayers are still needed...

Update

The girls heard from my son last night right before his phone went out.
He reported that he is ok, but house was ruined and smells like a sewer. Not sure how much longer he can stay there. He will be running out of food and water soon. And the heat has been unbelievable. He was a few blocks from the beach and almost all houses near and around him were destoryed. All the houses, 3 blocks back, were all gone. Most of the relief is going to Biloxi and Gulfport but not much going to Pascagoula, which is where he is. They have found dead bodies, some stuck in trees, some on the ground. Dead animals that were left behind. There is just so much loss it is hard to comprehend.

Please keep your prayers going.. and as soon as I hear more, I will post it.
Thank you all for emailing me and sharing your thoughts... I really need them.
And even if I wanted to, I could not get down there to help. Most of the bridges in that area are washed out. It is very hard for me as today is his Birthday... and this just really sucks... But I bet he will not do this stupid stunt again.... He said to his mom, I wish I had listen and left.... now he just needs to hold on so help can get there....

God bless him Spenser....I hope and pray that they rescue him soon...and I hope and pray that God gives them strength to care on.....Hun I am here for you if you need a shoulder to lean on....

So much happening

Hello all,

My heart is full of sadness and my tears are welling in my eyes as I watch and listen to the news; on top of all of this frustration and anger is mixed in with my emotions because I am safe and secure while others suffer and I am no longer able to volunteer to help with the recovery like I used to be. :(

It's been awhile since I've been here and there's a lot of reading to catch up on. Baby g/f I know how scary these types of medical situations can be especially when such a severe reaction occurs. I am one of those who has to carry an Epi-Pen everywhere I go because I go into anaphylactic shock with just 1/100th of a bee, wasp, centipede and other insect bites, certain foods like spinach (which I love) and other things. When your son gets better maybe you should take him to an allergy specialist to see if they could do allergy tests on your son to see what he is allergic to and it can determine quite specifically what they are and how allergic he is.

Kevin, I e-mailed you and will await for your response; hopefully I can contact my friend so he can talk to someone about the outlying areas, the communities outside of these main cities and towns.

As for everyone else, I smile to know everyone is here under the Tree sharing, hugging and providing support to others. We are what we locals call an "ohana" (which means family) that cares with our hearts. I rarely visit here or any thread lately because I'm staying in bed and not up and about or sitting that much and obeying the surgeon and doctor's orders and it's more comfortable lately since my loving, caring, wonderful man installed an a/c in our bedroom. I miss being here and wish I could be here on a daily basis but if I want to heal and get better I have to be good, take my meds like I'm suppose to and stay in bed so...when I get the chance and feel strong enough to sit up long enough I shall slowly walk towards the Tree and join everyone in the shade and enjoy the warmth of companionship, friendship and unspoken love.

Take care and aloha...to all those who have suffered and is suffering due to the wrath of Mother Nature and Hurricane Katrina I am praying extra prayers and asking others to light candles as well as having a special prayer during services and masses for the safety and well-being of the people and the volunteers.

If I could ask everyone to take a minute when you are alone to take a deep breath, close your eyes, say a special prayer, think of those who are suffering and have suffered and most of all for relief, food, water and to be rescued.

Keep all in prayer.

Thank you hon, and I have sent you that information. Anything that can be done would be great. I heard from a friend of mine who is with CrimeStoppers of MS and she has great contacts with the Police. So I hope she can tell me what is going on and maybe... get him out of there if possible.

Thanks again....

Major Update

I talked to a friend in Pascagoula. He said the place looks like a warzone.
40 dead and the number is climbing. No power and not sure when they will get any. He is checking on my son. But then I got a call from the ex. She heard from him. He is ok, doing well. No water still but they have drinking water. He said he and friend bathed in the river as there is no other place to bathe. The river is not clean but he said it was better then the water at the house that smells like a sewer.
She said he seems to be doing ok but said he has seen some very sad things. I am sure he is talking about the bodies. I also found out that Red Cross and Fema finally showed up yesterday. So things are getting somewhat better. Ex does not have a home to come back to and neither does my daughter. They are going to have to figure out what they are going to do.
Thanks again for all your prayers.

Spenser hun....I am here for you....if you need a someone to lean on lean on me....... please email me if you need me....I will continue to pray for all of you and the others in this devastation...

Yeaaaaaaaaa

I heard from my son! YEA!!!!!! He is hot and sweaty and stinky.. but he is safe. He said the one thing he wants more then anything is AC and a hot shower. He had to bathe in the river to get clean. He said it has been horrible but he is glad he is alive. He said he has seen enough death to last him a life time. He said those that are dead are not anyone he knows. He also said he has seen pictures of New Orleans and MS coast for the firs time. He said Pascagoula looks just like Biloxi and Gulfport. But he is glad he was spared.
Thank you so much for your prayers.
