Home. Gawd, was it ever Monday all fucking day long.


Lessee, there was an over-abundance of trash loaded in the dumpsters at work. There was having to go back to take another whack at a job that just doesn't want to stay fixed. The office staff was fucking about on getting the electricity turned on in a unit without a meter. Then there was he nasty plumbing leak in a vacant unit we're supposed to be renting out on 9/11, and it's been raining on itself for a couple of weeks or more. Ancient fucking drains full of crap and now flowing worth a damn, and dripping faucets just barely running over. It's ruined the kitchen counter top and one of the base cabinets.


I'm sure I'll cobble something together.


I can hardly wait . . . .

The Queen has been dealing with AT&T technical support for well over a week to find out why we're suddenly locked out of an account. There are two things you have to know about the Queen that those poor fools did not.

1). Once she gets an idea, no forward progress can be made until you deal with her idea, no matter how nuts or unrelated to the problem it is. She simply stops paying any real attention to the conversation and keeps finding ways to get back to, I asked you five, ten, fifteen ..., thirty minutes ago to see if it was....

2). She invents terminology on the fly. She invents things that are not there and then proceeds on the assumption that they are true.

It makes for a lot of fun.

I talked to Mom yesterday. She is the only person who cannot hear me on my phone. Every other single person, including her deaf-as-a-post Other Son, can seem to hear me fine. Either that or they're all lying to me and stringing me along. And she won't get her hearing checked.


It's probably like the old "deaf" housedog who can't hear you call him to go out to pee when t's raining but can hear 4 molecules of hamburger hit the kitchen floor at 600 metres. Only when I'm talking, of course.


Can't you hear me knocking . . . ? I ain't no stranger . . . .

Well, I know the Queen's dachshund will willfully ignore me...

I think the male of the species has a self-defense mechanism that preserves the peace; as he ages, he loses the high end of his hearing thus shutting out a lot of the nonsense being spewed by the women-folk he is surrounded by.
 
Got called into work as a 'replacement manager' for a sick comrade.


I was Chow Yun-fat but there was no Mira Sorvino. Pity.
 
There was no Chew On Fat today. It was more assholes and elbows.


Yeah, my ass is tired. I was training our newbie today, the acting boss was out this afternoon taking his mum to the doctor, I drove my regular evening gig. I'm on the 24-hour hotline for my volunteer organization and have already had two very livewire calls, and nobody made me any goddamn s'ghetti, so I was forced to heat-n-eat my own. And I'm an hour ahead of you.


But I am a total failure as a woman, too.


Hah!!!

I don't think we get corporate until next month or October. I'm putting in for some time off in October, even if just a couple of three-day weekends.


The N00bie is working out very well. He brings his brain to work with him and actually seems to include it as one of the tools in his kit. I like this kid. He also stays busy and tries to be helpful. I hope he sticks.


The n00bie boss is good on keeping up with work orders, but the move-ins are going to be the death of him. I see my new duties defining themselves.


Fuck this shit, I need sleep.
