I hate wearing khaki.

Morning, wat.

Morning, Dearest!!!

I have found an Acceptable Khaki. Walmart makes a work jean, like carpenter's jeans, in khaki. The fabric is a little too light, and they do develop holes in wear places, but they're pretty decent, inexpensive, and hold a decent crease when ironed.

Yes, I'm ironing my work clothes, for the first time in a very long time.

Ironing. :(

I never make it that far with my clothes. I just hope that hanging them in the closet allows gravity to work its magic on the wrinkles.

Oh, I do a lot of that, too.

I was just taking some shirts out of the dryer while still warm and shaking them out and hanging them up warm.

It doesn't seem to work quite as well with pants, but then again, that seems to depend on the pants.

I have some t-shirts out on the line. They'll look like Walk Of Shame clothes the morning after, except for their cleanliness and fresh smell. They can't help themselves.

Now that's one fine looking American.

Ya think she owns an M-1?

I think she's eastern European and I doubt she even owns an AK.
Otherwise, if she'd like to immigrate here, I'd be happy to hook a sistah up.

]

Okay. So we'll make her an honorary American. It's the least we can do.

Just popping in for a second...

;)

Man, you guys have fun when Im not here.

Oh well, time to start laundry of my own.

Meh. It happens sometimes.

I took both the nephews to the rifle range and let them shoot some of my toys. The "assault" thingie-toys. Including the new one.

I think they got the idea. They asked about costs and availability and ammo pricing, too.

I've been meaning to do this all year. Too bad they didn't bring their Old Man, though.

Happy Monday!!!

I feel strangely not with it just yet, but I have coffee, so that will be a temporary feeling.

It's a school day again. We'll be doing more shopping to identify subcontractors and suppliers for work. We started making calls last week and got a few people out, and there will be more of that this week.

I'm feeling that many pounds of preparation at this stage will eliminate the need for several tons of cure later.

All battle plans fall apart once you make contact with the enemy...

;) ;)

... that's when training and discipline have to kick in.

Train hard . . . fight easy.

That's what this is - figure out what you have, see what experience tells you, makes some notes, and then go and do a few. It'll turn to shit, so see what went wrong, make some notes based on expereince, and then adjust accordingly.

And then kill them all.

Meet the new job - same as the old job.

Every morning I would get to the school determined to train longer and harder than any of my opponents. Eventually it paid off. One had to be willing to accept a lot of disappointments and heartache at first because just training hard doesn't always mean success, that only comes from repetitions in the ring and paying attention to those who were winning.

Well, in listening to management, it's nice to figure out what they're really telling you.

"We have 12 months to do this job, but we want to get it done in 9."

Okay, but what does that mean? It meant to me, figure out what daily production has to be to make the schedule. I did some math, number of units compared to the number of days in a work week. At one unit delivered per day, it's seven and a half months duration. Add six weeks for set-up and take-down, and we're at nine months . . . what the Big Cheese said he wants to deliver it in.

Now, it's just about eliminating the waste motion after a few repetitions in order to get to the "fight easy" part.

Which reminds me, I have to go out this week and mark all of the site lighting that isn't working.

I still haven't asked what the company policy on firearms is. I've worked in worse places, but I've also worked in better.

Of course, what they don't know won't hurt them.

If they don't see, or more especially, if they don't hear it . . . .
