fourth story of all time to break through the 5000 vote barrier…

Hi, it’s Gabby again,

Due to his still being so busy with the seminars the boss asked me to post this. I’d also like to add my thanks too! James R Scouries wrote:

For only the fourth time in the recorded history of LITEROTICA a story on the site received its 5,000th vote today!!!
I, and all the employees of ScouriesWorld, would like to take this opportunity to thank those LITEROTICA readers who have taken the time to send us your prized feedback by voting. It’s greatly appreciated and valued!

Yes, this story, which debuted here in December 2006, has become only the fourth story to ever have received 5,000 VOTES.

And to those of you who haven’t voted for it yet – c’mon, go ahead...try it…you’ll love the story…and when you light up those voting stars remember, you’ll be making LITEROTICA history.

Hi, it’s Gabby,

February 19th 2008: favorites list watch

A big jump overnight! Here’s an interesting list – 31 completely different writers from the last list. Again, it’s the number I’ve never heard of that astounds.

I have heard of the first name of course, the MarshMan, he’s a quite famous comedy writer here. And bearlee and his wife are certainly well known. English Bob, BobbyT and ANNE240 are GIANTS! VarianP I know, Boxlicker101 has great pictures, and MaxSebastian just joined the 1000+ VOTE CLUB.

And then of course there is BOSTONFICTIONWRITER who is quickly proving himself one of LITEROTICA’S greatest writers (even after having had the SURVIVOR CONTEST stolen from him last year!). It’s good to see he’s moving up the list.

But that leaves over two thirds that I don’t know! And some great names…Weird…

• MarshAlien (111)
• AMY_Monaco (110)
• TheDarkCloud (109)
• bbw4youngercocks1 (109)
• bearlee (109)
• litpervgrrl (108)

Favorites

I had never listed a favorite author before last night. Which when I thought about it didn’t seem very fair. So I chose three to start:

* rgjohn
* BOSTONFICTIONWRITER
* sarahhh

PLEASE DON'T HOLD IT AGAINST THEM!

I’ll probably add a few more in the days to come.

I’d never tried to do it before – thought it would be one of those complicated computer things. But it turned out to be surprisingly easy! Which I guess explains why the numbers have been rising so dramatically lately. I was only the favorite of about 50 people last fall - it put me about seventieth on the list (which I thought was pretty good given the number of authors who’ve published here).

And then something happened. Not just to my numbers but to just about everyone’s, at least to those still putting out new stories. I, and many others, all of a sudden started flying upward and past some of the LITEROTICA superstars. Great, respected authors who’d slowly accumulated 60 or 70 or 80 points on the list were suddenly left in the dust by Johnny-come-latelys like yours truly.

OK, I probably deserved it but what about…

Seriously though, this list is quickly becoming something other than what it was. The top 10 on the list still looks pretty solid but once you get much further down it you start finding some pretty iffy choices.

I wonder if that really matters….

Oh no, this is quite enlightening. Now that Daniellekitten has blown right past her nemesis BOSTONFICTIONWRITER in less than 2 weeks, Gabby has bet scouries that Daniellekitten will pass him in less than a month. Adoption is a wonderful thing.

I'm honored.

Nemisis? Is that a cousin twice removed (lol)?

First of all, I never knew that I was Daniellekitten's nemisis. I didn't even know we were related. Shit, now, I'll have to write an incest story about her. I'm sure that will go over big with the drama Queen being inserted as a character in one of my stories (lol). I'll never hear the end of it. She'll be writing about that in her blog the rest of her life.

Scouries, I am honored. I don't know what to say. I almost want to give you my Green E, but I haven't removed the thing from around my neck since it was bestowed on me. Matter of fact, I still wear it to bed, which explains the Big E impression on my chest.

Thank you for naming me one of your favorite authors. Had I was of mind to impregnate a woman, I would name my son, Scouries.

(Gees, I'm certainly happy I won't be having any more kids. Imagine a boy named Scouries.)

Nonetheless, I would have named my son Scouries...I know, what if I named my next dog Scouries? I hope you don't take offense at being named after a dog, but I love dogs.

I thank you again. Only, this really adds to the illusion that many lurkers on this site believe that you are me and I am you. It's like looking in the mirror, sometimes, you know.

You and the other motherfucker are funny. Get a room.

"Scouries! Scouries!"

Actually, I have a Rat Terrier named Polo that I've since changed to Scouries in honor of you naming me one of your favorite writers.

Only, now, when I call the dog, he doesn't cum. And the kids in the neighborhood think that I'm calling them names or making fun of them when I stand out front yelling, "Scouries! Scouries!"

Maybe, I should have named him Gabby.

I had a sixth grade Social Studies teacher who owned a bassett hound named "Bourbon." She'd stand out on the front porch and call him--which led the neighbors to wonder considerably. Food for thought. :D

Kidnapped Daughter?

Named by Teddy Roosevelt, the Rat Terrier is generally believed to descend from Fox Terriers crossed with Manchester Terriers. Quick and determined, his ability to clean out a building of rats, ALTS and other vermin in record time is legendary (it’s taking a little more time than usual in AH land).

…The Male Rat Terrier is a well-muscled dog with a deep chest, strong shoulders, solid neck, powerful legs and large penis. Their bodies are compact but meaty. These horny little dogs will cover bitches up to three times their size. The ears can be upright or tipped and are carried erect when the dog is alert. They can be born with short or full length tails, each being left in its natural state or docked at two days of age. The coat colors include, pearls, sables, chocolates, red and white, tri-spotted, solid red, black & tan, blue & white and red brindle.

…The Rat Terrier is active, alert, and lively. He is loyal, affectionate and devoted to his master. As a sociable creature, he needs the companionship of his people and will not be happy to be a kennel dog. Curious by nature, and always on the move, the Rat Terrier is friendly towards people and other dogs. This is a dog with lots to say! He often vocalizes his feelings with snorting, growling, and mumbling noises, especially if he's bored.

A naturally intuitive dog with an eager to please personality, he makes a good companion whether you're at home or hunting together…His sensitivity and intelligence make him a fast learner. A long-lived breed, the Rat Terrier will be part of your family for 12 to 18 years. You'll need a fenced yard - he's a real escape artist!

Writing, dogs, cars, and women.

Only, I have the new breed of Rat Terrier.

The old version was bred from the Manchester Terrier, the Fox Terrier, and the Whippet. My dog is bred from the Manchester Terrier, the Whippet, and the Italian Greyhound.

Instead of having short legs and a squat body, the new breed is sleeker, narrower, long legged, and really friggin' fast.

He's the fastest dog at the dog park, the most socialable, and he never backs down. He was attacked by three Pit Bulls. They cornered him and I thought he was done for. Even the owners would get their dogs because they were afraid.

I was tossing Pit Bulls out by their collars. My little 20 pound Rat Terrier stood his ground, fended them off, and even bit one in the ear.

Still...he was lucky that these weren't fighting Pit Bulls, but pets.

I love writing, women, dogs, and cars...in that order. Well, maybe, writing, dogs, cars, and then women (lol).

Thanks for the info on the Rat Terrier. I bought the Rat Terrier because I had a Manchester Terrier as a kid, a beautiful dog, but a bit rare.

The Rat Terrier is a pedigree recognized by the UKC but not the AKC. He's gorgeous and has the disposition of a mutt.

Jeeze, I almost passed over AsylumSeeker. Author of my favorite post of all time:“Sorry, not believing it. Another example of a wannabe that is left lacking. Put a hint of your "riches" in my pocket and I''be more accepting.” I’ve never been quite sure what he meant when he posted the preceding but it’s clearly outstanding work.

Just finished your story and enjoyed it . The people are much more real in your story which makes it much sexier and foul language doesn't abound for its own sake so it's not repugnant to your more sensitive readers.

I inadvertently voted your story only one star when I intended to give it five.( I thought you had to highlight each star.) Good luck.

So here on the Scouries Reader thread, the thread I’m THREADMASTER of, I’d like to publicly say thank for your kind words. And don’t worry about the vote mistake – the fact that you both voted and sent me your comment is all I ask of any reader. We need a lot more just like you.

What the Hell is going on?

What is more amazing to me than DanielleKitten's meteor like launch from quitting Literotica to finding herself again on the list of one of 250 favorite authors, now in 25th place, is my placing 85th with 102 votes.

What the Hell is going on?

Hey, I don't have that many friends and relatives combined, so I know that it is not them who are voting for me. Can it really be that there are 102 readers or one guy or with 102 computers who enjoys what I write?

I'm stunned. The last time I checked the list was when I wrote my story 250 Most Favorite Authors. Then, I was barely in last place with 29 votes. Suddenly, I'm climbing up the chart.

I think that I can finish first ahead of SalenaKitten and Goldeniangel. What do you think my chances of that are? What's that? I have a better chance of being invited on Oprah to hawk my E-books?

Yeah, I figured you'd say that. Nonetheless, I'm stunned. I'm flattered.

I'd like to take this opportunity to personally thank that guy or gal who has access to a network with 102 computers for voting for me 102 times.

"Thank you."

the next generation...

Hi, it’s Gabby,

Sorry I’ve been away most of the last ten days but we’ve been very busy down here.

And all of us at ScouriesWorld would like to thank the fifty-nine participants in the Scouries Winter Beach Erotic Writing Seminar that finished this weekend.

It was a delight to meet the next generation of erotic writers, the men and women whose prose will bring us great enjoyment (and orgasms) in the years to come.

To see students from all around the English speaking world, from India and Canada and Ireland and Pakistan and Kenya and New Zealand and Pakistan and the U.S. and Ireland and the Bahamas and Scotland and South Africa among others, no matter their race or religion, come together in the spirit of brotherhood was heart warming.

To see the free flow of ideas, the development of lifelong friendships, the hard work, the concentration, the desire to improve, that is what ScouriesWorld and James R Scouries is all about.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the management and staff of the South Beach Ritz for their hosting of our get together. Well done gentlemen and ladies!

Information on the Scouries European Summer Erotic Writing Seminar to be held on the French Riviera in August will be available by late March.

Stay tuned. The fun is just beginning.

Let the consortium try and win Survivor this year. I have a few surprises up my sleeve.

I think that I may have...are you ready...are you sitting down?

I may post 2,000 stories this year. I found my collection of short stories that I wrote so long ago and I can't believe how many stories there are in this one box, plus I have two other boxes with journals.

I just need to rewrite some and viola, I'll have them ready by December.

Oh, the irony of it all.

One man against an army of writers. I've already won this contest. They can't possibly beat me this year. There's no way I'll be denied and cheated out of this again.

Stay tuned. The fun is just beginning.

February 27 2008 favorites list watch

We’re down to the TOP TWENTY-FIVE!!!!!!

And just who are these people?

Well of course there is yours truly in #15. Which seems like a pretty good spot to be in.

And who makes up the TOP TEN? Actually quite a varied crew although all of them are relatively famous.

#1 Selena_Kitt with her new name (and new boobs?) and #2 Goldeniangel are SURVIVOR CONTEST writers whose thousands of stories across every category have attracted a varied and large following.

#3 sarahhh, is probably LITEROTICA’S most famous author. Even though she doesn’t publish a huge number of stories here, those she does invariably receive more comments from contented readers than any other author (by a long shot!). An obvious HALL of FAMER!

#4 Slickman has been here since 2002 and writes brilliant stories across the whole range of categories. He’s a 1000+ VOTE CLUB author. Another HALL of FAMER.

#5 TryAnything, #7 rgjohn and #9 youbadboy are truly among the greats – all of them members of the LITEROTICA ‘HALL OF FAME’. All three are members of the 1000+ VOTE CLUB and have multiple TOP 100 MOST VIEWED STORIES. All are LITEROTICA contest winners.

#6 wishfulthinking, a mystery to me, apparently is a young lady who has been writing stories on this site since 2004 right up to the present, mainly in the Sci-fi, NonHuman and NonConsent categories. She’s a past contest winner and has drawn a large number of fans from these less popular categories.

#8 brightlyburn is another young lady, a member since 2004, a contest winner, who writes multi chaptered Romance category stories (10 chapters appears to be a short story for this young lady!). At least 50 out of the top 500 romance stories of all time are by this young woman. She’s known as the QUEEN of ROMANCE.

#10 Colleen Thomas was before my time and is apparently dead now. However she appears to have attained almost cult status among the Lesbian set and many in AHland. She won many contests and is famous for the help she so willingly provided other authors. Another LITEROTICA HALL of FAMER.

So that’s the top ten. The next ten are not quite as famous (with exceptions).

#11 BarondeSade has produced a large number of stories in his short career, good stories that have attracted a loyal following.

#12 secretme, who has been exploding up the charts, is the mystery woman here. There have been a good number of rumors about this woman(?) lately. She wrote one story in late 2006 and then was silent until November 2007 when she inaugurated her 27 chapter ‘Leader of the Puck’ NONHUMAN category serial story. Almost every informed LITEROTICAN believes her an ALT of another well known authoress (although there is some debate about which one). We at ScouriesWorld, after a study of her prose and the timing of her appearance, are pretty confidant we know who she really is. Quite a few Literotica readers have reported receiving requests from another well known authoress to put ‘secretme’ on their ‘FAVORITES’ list. MANU is investigating.

#13 nikki_2021 is a veritable giant, having authored one of LITEROTICA’S most famous stories. “A Brother and Sister Ch 1-6” is 1000+ VOTE CLUB member, a 1,000,000 (ONE MILLION) seller, and one of the highest rated Incest stories of all time. HALL of FAMER.

#14 bluedragonauthor is a complete unknown! A male, he seems to have captured the hearts of the GROUP SEX category readers.

#15 scouries, yours truly, of course needs no introduction. Author of the MOST VOTED ON story of ALL TIME and the MOST COMMENTED ON story of ALL TIME, “DADDY”, I WHISPERED, his stories invariably receive the most votes in every contest he enters. A five time 1000+ CLUB MEMBER and owner of two of the top 75 most read stories of all time. HALL of FAMER.

#16 kimberlykitten has announced her retirement! The only other thing I can say about the young woman (based on her picture) is that she has an extremely large and attractive bust.

#17 firstkiss is another young lady! Fortunately she’s a Canadian, but can’t cook and thankfully is straight. She writes primarily for the older set.

#18 BlewWater69 is a relative newcomer to the site. However, having written a large number of stories, and in a wide range of categories, he’s benefited a great deal from the changes that MANU made last year that has led to the explosive growth in the FAVORITES list.

#19 dragontatto is another young woman. She writes Sci-Fi and Romance. What’s with these categories anyway?

#20 klrxo is from another planet…just klridding. He actually has some of the most read stories of all time!

So that’s the top twenty in a nutshell. And what have we learned from our analysis?

Well, first, the more stories you put up on LITEROTICA the more likely to rise up the list you are. #1 and #2 prove this. Two, putting stories in a lot of different categories helps because you get exposed to more groups of readers. In other words, SURVIVAL CONTEST entrants do well on this list.

We’ve also found that women are as likely to make the list as men.

We’ve found that new authors have as good as chance as veterans to make the top twenty. In fact, even average writers have managed to push aside some of the giants due to the new rules.

Writing 10, 15 or even 25 chapter stories don’t necessarily preclude you from the list. In fact, while these serial type stories may attract a small audience, it’s a rabid group of readers who are very likely to make you their ‘favorite’.

That authors who write in the more obscure corners of LIT (NonHuman, Sci-Fi, Lesbian) are capable of rising to the top.

And that some of the true greats have (so far) been able to hold on to their spots.

In other words, to get on the list you have to be 1) good, or 2) prolific, or 3) have lots of friends or 4) cheat….

The guy in #15 is of course 1) good.
