What's your opinion? Are the forum boards moderated?

Well my friend I can tell you that the STORY FEEDBACK FORUM is moderated. By a pleasant guy called the Conformist. Unfortunately he lives in Mozambique and is without Internet connections about 93% of the time.

I can say though that in my two or three dealings with said Conformist that he’s proven to be a nice enough fellow. He’s sorta a “don’t ask/don’t tell” type of moderator – he rightly believes we’re all adults and can be left to operate much as we want. His mantra is “you’ve got an IGNORE BUTTON, if you don’t like somebody use it”.

His biggest dislike with his MODERATOR job (a job that presently pays an honorarium of $18,000 u.s. per year) is with two kinds of folks – first, the complainers. He receives a constant bombardment of complaints from people like the girl from the upper peninsula, paco and others of their ilk – so much so that he’s had to put them on ignore!

The second group he dislikes, perhaps even more that the first, are the whiners like miss o, miss omega, darkboy, km and cloudy – they not only complain to him but they try to go over his head. A couple of these cretins have even had the temerity to campaign for his job. By and large they’re sneaks.

Our current moderator’s greatest accomplishment as far as I can see is that he’s allowed the NIPPLES thread (which breaks about every rule in the SF book) to thrive here. Good for him. ​

I asked you these questions on the last page of the SCOURIES thread… thought I’d repost them just in case they slipped your mind.

Why I haven’t IGNORED YOU yet is because you’re different from the retards on my list – you not only are smarter (that BA!) but you generally address questions seriously. And you have a sense of humor (although a very weird one). And of course who could ignore your AVATAR? And by and large I think you like the site and would like to see it improve.

But unfortunately you’re too much like LAUREL and MANU – everything has to be done in the backrooms. You’re part of the old in crowd who thinks they know best and no one outside the charmed circle should have the temerity to comment (read criticize) anything that emanates from the palace.

everyone knows how much I love these annual awards - but this years awards have taken us to a new level...

I had to laugh when I saw the following. 11 W’s awarded based on a total of 17 votes! There were less votes cast over six weeks than there were stories or authors entered in the seven categories!

Apparently soular is hard at work writing foreign language versions of her stories for the 2010 contest.

How can I be offended by fake prizes? You haven't awarded anyone anything ever well, other than gratuitous, glad-handing, masturbatory congrats to yourself for all the scouries-created contests judged by arcane, scouries-created rules, using your own judging to select the winner (yourself).

You ordered me to make my MISS SUPERIOR posts, remember? You keep PMing me with junk that I have nothing to do with, like complaints about the fact that someone decided to edit a story in the middle of a contest.

My opinion on that, by the by, is that who the hell cares? Lit does not claim a single copyright from an author, but rather secures only permission to post the work on the domain for however long the author wants it posted. That means the story still belongs to the author, who may then do whatever the hell they want to with it. Laurel has always created rules that are inclusionary rather than exclusionary (other than a few notables, such as the no under 18 sex rule), so it's no surprise to me that she's going to maintain an inclusive stance when it comes to who can enter a contest and what they can do with their work during said contest.

You're the only person who has a problem with it, and that has more to do with your inability to win actual contests that are honestly associated with or sponsored by Lit than anything else. It's simple math: you didn't win, ergo Lit's contests are unfair and biased.

I am laughing at you now.
 
I must say your reply is much as expected. I was pretty sure you weren’t going to be able to rise above partisanship and jealousy to discuss these issues.

You ask “how can you, km, be offended by these prizes”. And mention “arcane rules” and “your own judging to select the winner”. This said even though you know perfectly well that the rules have been clearly set out and explained (unlike LITEROTICA’S rules). And even though you know that the A.I.R. winners are selected by the vast reading public that makes up this world wide association. Why oh why dear lady did you make this attempt to mislead thread readers.​

Because I know you’re torn – on the one hand you love the QUEEN and on the other you love honesty and truth. A WINTER contest suggestion for andtheend?

I must say I’d been still trying to recover from the suggestion that it’s perfectly all right to change your story in the middle of a contest here on LITEROTICA. That votes cast for version one will simply carry over to version two or three or four… In fact I’ve been having nightmares about it.

Until last night that is. I was abed, tossing and turning while visions of demonic AHers madly editing stories danced in my head.

And then a light appeared. Just a pin prick at first but then it exploded into a supernova that first smashed, then banished the AHers from my dreams. Replaced by godly finger that pointed towards me, bathing me in holy light and allowing me to understand god’s genius.

Scouries, he said, only one entry per author or should I say one title…

She could title the story: andtheend’S 25 WAYS TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS
susan’s 25 category tales of lust

Every single day the contest was on susan could edit her contest story – in fact, under the guise of AN EDIT she would simply replace it with another one. One day an INCEEST story, the next a LOVING WIVES one, then a ROMANCE, and on and on.

Completely different stories but with the same title. And the votes and views would continue to accumulate… Of course she’d have to explain her plan to the reader so they’d know to come back each day– perhaps an introduction that said something like this:
Dear reader, this story is my OFFICIAL entry into the LITEROTICA WINTER CONTEST. I hope you enjoy it and I ask that you take the few extra seconds required when you’re finished to vote for it. I’d certainly appreciate it. And feel free to send me your comments – I love to hear what readers think of my work.
