The Sanctuary

Do they normally eat cat food?
They aren't supposed to, and we try to keep veggies for them. They like their veggies a little bit on the spoiled side, so that's handy. They snarl at each other over banana-- eensty snarls.:D

We have transcendent cookies here...and unlimited chocolate.

~smile~

Truffles, anyone?

Ingredients:

Lots of chocolate, whipping cream, your favourite creme liqueur, more chocolate.

Melt first batch of chocolate, pour in whipping cream and liqueur, mix at high speed till fluffy and light. Refrigerate overnight.

Remove whipped chocolate next day and using a spoon and hands make a number of small balls.

Melt second batch of chocolate and half-fill ice cube trays. Drop the balls into the ice cube slots, one per slot and top the ice cube trays with the rest of the melted chocolate.

Refrigerate overnight.

Next day, twist trays and eat truffles.

You are not going to suddenly make yourself popular on these boards, you've already shot yourself in the foot. No on likes you.

Ahhhh that's much better...

Nice, quiet, comfy spot with which to just "be".

No fighting, or arguing in here please.

~smile~

It never takes very long.

Oh, was that yours?

Sorry. :D

LOL

Are you sure you didn't accidentally eat her stash of peanut butter?

Oooh those sound fantastic. I have a close family friend who (I think) uses a similar method. She makes oreo cookie truffles. They are absolutely amazing.

Peanut butter and chocolate are a wonderful combination. :p

And I already have a secret stash of chocolate.

All day I have been craving peanut butter and chocolate, or sushi. Weird, I know, but it's true. Must be PMS.

I missed this the first time! They sound adorable with their "eentsy snarls" and all...

Where did you get them? How big are they projected to get? Easier, or more difficult to take care of than a cat or dog?

yes peanut butter is nasty. blech

or you're preggers!

Peanut butter is awesome. It goes well with so many many foods... apples, celery, chocolate etc.

 I AM NOT PREGNANT! I'd have to be engaging in activities that I am not...:(

It's really weird, but for the past four months I've craved fish over chocolate when I'm pmsing.

You probably need the essential oils in the fish.

I keep thinking I should just dispense with the chocolate coating. A half-litre of whipping cream just about doubles the volume of the melted chocolate while improving the flavour.

And when you add Tequila Rose or Bailey's ... :)

Yeah, but even when I was taking fish oil twice a day, I had horrible cravings. Like really revolting stuff. I would eat fish three times a day, and almost ate tuna on pizza. A good friend stopped me before that happened.

:(

I didn't get to make those yet. The sushi sounds great right about now.

My inner sadist just lol'd at your sad face.

I love sushi. So incredibly yummy. I had a spicy roll with eel on top last time, and I can not wait to have it again.

Oooooh Bailey's sounds like a very good idea! -Gotta love dessert liquor.

Speaking of sushi, I also really enjoy Japanese plum wine or Umeshu. I'd also like to try pineapple wine at some point, and would love to figure out how to incorporate fruit wine into a decadent dessert.

I LOVE Umeshu and almost everything Ume-flavored ... and I live in the right place for it :D

A typical Ume dessert is a gelatin thing. Why don't you try to make some Umeshu-Jelly? Or perhaps a frozen Umeshu-sherbet? Or, I'm sure you could make a decadent fruit salad/punch with Umeshu.

Damn it, I thought pineapple wine was my original idea.

Want some more sad faces? :D

You got to stop with the sushi talk. I'm going to have to go for a nice long drive Saturday to get some.

I envy you your geographic location at times like this.;)

Umeshu sherbert sounds good. Maybe when I have some time off next week I'll try it out. Thanks!

Hmm...How would I come by those sad faces UMB? lol

Did you go for your drive?

Speaking of faeries....will we ever get to see the continuation of a long lost bedtime story? *batts eyes*

You know, I enjoy Bett's bedtime stories. I'd like to see him writing again.

Yeah, you can make wine out of anything that can ferment really. Local guy does great fruit wines, Plum is a good dry and actually does a vegetable(-ish) wine for cooking http://www.kerriganbrothers.com/

Also all over Door county are cherry and other berry wines.

I am curious what plan #84328 b324.2343 is though.
