The Sainted Rose: OOC Building thread.

The Sainted Rose idea here got favorable input.
But I am no writer by any stretch, just a random scribbler who does good.

So I am making this thread for idea brain storming and thoughts.

things that came in that worked.

Will there be infighting among members? Yes, but let's not go over board.
I think they would set up some kind of dual to settle arguments and such and higher ups would not stand for too much BS.

Enemies: Purist who think the Sainted Rose is Evil.
Law enforcement who don't them having control in the law, same with Gov.
Rival groups.

Does the Sainted Rose have it's own assassins? maybe.. this can be put up to debate.

One idea that just hit me are assassin who never kill painfully or in a horrible way.. exceptions may arise.
They kill with or during pleasure..

Things that are allowed:

Just about anything between two or more players and within the TOS of Lit.
Graphic scenes that might disturb some players may be taken off side via notes or a new thread.

Magic: The world where the Sainted Rose resides is rich in it, street lights are lit by magic flames, you can by a cure or magic based poison.
Demon summoning is legal in certain areas and not so much in others.
If you have trouble thinking of magic or some such, use this link to an old classic. MAGIC [Yes, it's a table top RPG, you know a better source that's free?]

Psionics: Psionics are held with fear and loathing because so little is known about it. It frightens people that such things exist an those that employ such things might find them selves hunted with out allies. The Sainted Rose hold less restriction on such things because it is useful, but this has added fire to the fuel of those who dislike the SR.

Races: [I am going to use the classics and you can look at them here: RACES. Other races will be allowed with certain restrictions as some can be rather God Handed.]

To help keep track of who or what you are, I would like to use a bare basic character sheet.

Alec, Aka "The Mad Hatter"

Brief Bio
The man known as the "Mad Hatter" is the organization's premier inquisitor, specializing in interrogation. His past is muddled with mystery. Each version he tells is different from the last.

Currently he is on leave from his duties to train his newly appointed submissive. He requested the girl specifically for his love of challenges.

Personality
Alec is an eccentric, with no regard for contemporary standards of tidiness or good order, yet he has a "cat-like" love of personal cleanliness. He has an ego that at times borders on arrogant with a flair for showmanship. His general demeanor is dispassionate and cold, yet in rare instances he has shown remarkable passion. Alec is a loner and does not strive to make friends, but he does cherish those he manages to keep.

He shows signs of manic depression, with moments of enthusiasm coupled with instances of indolent self absorption. He has an intense attention to details, a lack of interest in interpersonal relationships, and can be extremely long-winded. Symptoms attributed to Asperger's syndrome. This, along with his penchant for fine dress and top hats, has given rise to the nickname "Mad Hatter".

Dom/sub: Sub... and not very happy about it, most often.
Race: Human.
Age: 27

To others, she's known as Elizabeth McQueen; the girl from the bakery on East Ave, the one who jokes and teases, tends to throw old pastries at customers... A bit of a stubborn thing.

To the Sainted Rose, she's simply "Red".
Her father, a former member; Red, intended to take his place after an unfortunate incident with an Opposing House. Her temper and mouth, however, led to her own quick downfall... She's now the Pet to Alec, "The Hatter".


Any strange powers: Mental manipulation. Alter someone's memories, view brief ones, and cause extreme mental damage, if she tries hard enough- Though she will only do this if a certain phrase is uttered by Alec. Each psychic attempt leaves her greatly weakened and in an even fouler mood.


Ultimate Goal: Revenge on those who demoted her- At least, she thinks that's it...

Honestly, it's why I gave the restrictions. Hurts her like hell, refuses to do it without Alec making her.
Others can react to her attacks as they wish...

Nothing wrong with that. Every time I go to make a character I suddenly realize its just a slightly different Sebastian Shaw. While I like him I try to make at least halfway original characters.

Well, the Sainted Rose is supposed to be in a Fantasy setting, so any ideas you want to run with are welcome.

Name: Richter Cadmus

Description: Standing at 6’2” it is unclear what he is, only that he is not human like he appears to be. The dark hair and sharp features, while seemingly unreal, are not what betrays him. Dark, nearly opaque, sunglasses hide eyes to no normal person, even of the mythical race like the elves could have. Looking into them is like staring out into the stars of endless galaxies. Anyone who likes into those eyes cannot help, but feel small. He looks no more than thirty, but some days he looks like he could be younger. His dark hair just avoids touching his collar and never seems to be out of place.

Goals: Lately Ritcher has been focusing more attention on personal projects than he should be. This has left areas previously dominated by Sainted Rose control vulnerable to outside interests. With some discontent in the order questioning whether he deserves his current title, Richter has decided he needs a protégé. A smart submissive that he can trust that could manage his affairs. Placing so much of his power in the order in the hands of his submissive would require very deep trust that he hasn’t achieved with anyone as of yet.

History/Background: Mr. Cadmus’s history before joining the Sainted Rose is murky, but the prevailing theory is that he worked with the CIA. When he joined the Sainted Rose he climbed the ranks quickly until he had secured a solid position as a Black King. He’s willing to employ blackmail and wetwork rather than suffer major setbacks in his agendas, but has done so rarely. More often he contributes by manipulating political campaigns and scouting for talent in already present power players. A marked interest in the supernatural, especially secrets some consider too great for man to know, has colored his career in the Sainted Rose.

Erlind, I like the character in general, but can you tone him down just a little.
Making him so intimidating that other members have trouble being around him.. that's a bit much.

Everyone should be able to have their Grand moments, but you have written in other peoples failings into the character.

I was shooting for almost supernaturally imposing, but you're right I think I over did it. I removed the parts about him having cleaned house in the past, toned down his use of shadier tactics in the political arena, and emphasized his current precarious position.

Any comments on the rewrite would be welcome.

I've got an idea brewing for a character....an empathic psionic. I'm not sure which route to take them though, and I suppose I'll wait for more character input before I solidify it, but the bare-bones are:

Name: Vincent Chaplin

Race: Half-elf

SR Rank: Knight (black or white, probably. Depends on where the other players fit in.)/Rook.

Goals: The main idea here is that my character is an "attack dog/servant. His powers are held in check, but if he were freed, he might rise above his station.

Bio: This is still brewing in my brain, but the basic gist is a young man, shunned and abandoned by both humans and elves is left to wander the woods alone, his already sharpened mental powers left unrestrained in the wilderness. He grows more powerful, but encounters a force even he cannot control. The force in question is a member of the Rose, seizing him as a Pawn after recognizing his strengths. Through training and loyalty (either true or forced), he rises in rank. From that point, his goals become more clear to himself.
