The saddest thing I have ever seen at Literotica!

That post about JonBenet Ramsey;

Laurel, I would pull that post so fast. Shame on all you for making fun of a real murder of a little girl, a baby!

Fucking shame! I wouldn’t even post under that heading!

Go play with Lasher or Patryn or whoever in this fictional world of Literotica, but joking about a poor little girl who was really murdered!

Sad, incredibly sad!

Nothing in the last year at Lit has even approached this for being as totally disgusting!

Laurel, I’m sorry… but clean this shit up ASAP!

That is the exact reason I haven't posted on that particular thread.

I fully agree with what you have said. I know freedom of speech and what not, but put yourself in the position of losing a baby to murder or anything for that matter.

Talk about anything (well most things) but not that please.

Hmm... Its not as bad as the girl that wanted a story written about the Columbine shooters fucking her... Or something like that...

Another one that I did not and never will agree with.

I understand that it's ribbing the scandal around the issue, that is why to me it is in bad tatse. I just know how I would feel if my son was ripped from me (and I do agree that both parents know who did it), I just feel we should respect what has happened.

Sorry it's just my point and as I have always said we all have a right to our own opinions. Some will agree and some won't, so be it.

Take Care.

Hmm...I read that thread and I even posted on it and didn't find it was offensive. Reading this thread made me go back and take another look and...nope, I still don't find it was offensive.

If someone had made some grisly story suggestion involving JonBenet, I would have yanked that so fast it'd make your head spin. If people had discussed the glories of child rape and murder, the thread would've been bye-bye. However, this was a thread simply discussing a news event. No one poked fun of JonBenet. In fact, the only person who was made fun of was O.J. Simpson, who in my mind deserves to be the butt of a few jokes.

PM, I think you might want to go back and reread the whole discussion. I think you'll find that there was nothing salacious or disrespectful written regarding JonBenet Ramsey, nor did any of the posters advocate child murder. I am a big fan of kids and animals so I'd be the first to take offense if the case required it. IMHO, this is not such a case.

I agree with you Laurel..I saw that thread first, and posted on it...when I came to this one, I was confused. I didn't see anything offensive on that thread. There is a big difference between a discussion and advocating the murder of a child...I'm sure the other thread was posted in hopes of getting a discussion going on a current event.

Morning all, morning Laurel.....

Nope have not read the thread yet - will though, eventually. Saw it of course scrolling down - but just didn't interest me enough to click there first.

However, agree or disagree - making fun of the dead, no matter what age, no matter what sex - is merely a matter of taste, good or bad and one's perception/opinion of such. There is nothing inately, morally wrong with it.

If the thread falls within the rules of the board - which I believe I have come to understand as - no animal stuff and no under 18 stuff - then the thread should stand.

Like most Free Speach issues - it remains the individuals priveledge to partake or not partake - change the channel. Like a down and out, sick and needing help, homeless alcoholic, puking in the gutter - offensive? Yes, but you can look away - overt your eyes - to not be offended. Surely one would not suggest that the person - be removed. Hopefully one would do the right thing and actually "help" such a person - but most in this world would simply look away and walk on by.

Oh well. Such is life and such are the varied opinions of our peers.

I'll now go read that thread and see just how tasteless it may be.

I posted there and am sorry if you think it is in bad taste ................I think the real shame is a liller got away and think all are saying that....................Oh yea ......you to have no balls, to post under your nickname....you want to start shit but can't sign your name to it..................

Oh please!!!!

I read the thread.

What? A basic simple question that millions of folks all over the world have been discussing over water coolers and coffe since day one of the tragic event.

Give me a fucking break - have some puritans snuck up upon us here?

Even the humorous retorts don't come close to bad taste. And then when the replies actually go into the factual/analytical - what's wrong with that. Must you only be a detective or news reporter to discuss such info?

I don't think so Tim.

Nobody said anything like - "the fucking little cunt is dead." Or, "I'll bet her parents were double teaming the little bithch." Nothing even close to that distasteful.

Jeesh - you all should go thump a God damn bible or something.

So my question is who is Puppet Master and why is he trying to start stuff? It really doesn't sound like he/she/it's upset about this issue, instead it strikes me as another attempt to start this whole defense/attack thing on the board. Interesting.....

Hey Puppet Master, how is the weather in the middle of nowhere, you fucking cheesehead?

Who killed JonBenet Ramsey, inquiring minds want to know

My initial response to this thread was 'How the fuck should I know?'
Then the posts started coming in, and they were less than reverent. They also had nothing to do with the heartbreaking murder of an innocent child. They way I see it, the response of the Board was merely an attemt to get as far away from a sad, unanswerable question as possible.

Sincerely,

I have to agree with Puppet Master. I read the thread and found it truly offensive. That people could joke about something so unbelievably heinous is beyond my understanding. I find nothing amusing about the vicious murder of an innocent soul. But even though I find the subject reprehensible, I have to disagree with Puppet Master's wanting to have the thread removed from the board. If Laurel removes this thread, then what happens when someone else finds a thread about bestiality or incest offensive? Where do you draw the line? You can't pick and choose topics if you want to maintain a forum open to free speech. I chose not to post on that thread and just ignore it. Choosing not to post was really the only option if I would like to continue to have somewhere to post.

ok, my view:

two posts bothered me. i ignored them, seeing as how i had no other option.

as for the comments about dislike for the parents i agree about the pageant thing, i think they put her at risk by doing things like that, whether or not they were a part of her death.

the humor comments i thought were poking fun at the way we over sensationalize these cases, making it unreal, and showcasing the stupidity of our citizens and our judicial system. this could've been solved long ago if it hadn't been taken from a serious investigation to a live soap opera, so we're treating it like a soap opera.

remember the kind of conversations we all about OJ? that was a serious case, two people were brutally murdered. but all we remember is the circus that ensued.

oh yeah, and the opening post i took to not be too serious,... seeing as how it said "inquiring minds want to know" which has been the national inquirer's slogan for a while now, national enquierer is pretty much the embodiment of paparazzi in the USA. that led me to believe that the thread starter wasn't too serious.

anyway, that's my piece,... let me know if you disagree or etc.

one last thing! *insert lala behind sparky going "wop you jaw!" (it's hawaiian, look it up :))*
