I rarely post on these boards and prefer to lurk and talk in PM's because I discovered very fast that the great majority of the "power posters" were flaming assholes and not just on the GB.

I am a bisexual man and I am appalled at the way I have seen some treat straight people on this website and particularly the recent addition of VeryBadMan on this section.

I find men in uniform to be very hot and though he is a straight guy there is always hope he may relent and put his uniform on and fuck me. I have talked to him in PM's and he has assured me that he is unforgivably straight. He has been courteous and rebuffed my advances with humor. LOL

Everything I have read from this man has been nothing but courteous towards those of us who lead "alternate lives" yet several here of our lifestyle have not been as gracious. The only time I seen him not be nice is when attacked for no real reason. Even a sleeping dog will growl when kicked. In his case as a Marine, a Devildog, LOL

What I find ironic is we DEMAND respect and equality from the straight community yet it seems many refuse to extend the same. I am glad that Stella_Omega came to her senses and saw her error as I have always respected and admired her as one of the premier posters on this forum. She showed a lot of style by apologizing and VBM showed he had a lot of class by quickly accepting her olive branch. Kudos to both. I really was hoping they would have makeup sex as that could be a very hot moment but I digress. LOL

What finally provoked me to step up on my soap box is a post by LindSayRae. VeryBadMan posted pictures that are in violation of the forum which I bet he was unaware that it was a violation. You would think it was permissible due to us being an adult website but it is not the case sadly. Instead of just letting the guy know LindSayRae like a little tattletale bitch sent in a report to the sites owner. Real class move. I hated fucking little rats like this back in elementary school and my feeling for people like that are not likely to change.

Regardless of his evil heterosexuality there is absolutely no justification for the attacks I have seen from those within the GLBT community other than certain people feeling threatened by the hetero-mystique. If we that are GLBT really want respect and equality we need to give it in return. I find "Straight Bashing" just as ignorant and distasteful as "Gay Bashing".

Given that the thread with the violating pictures was in Fetish & Sexuality Central, and most of the people mentioned in this thread are in Fetish & Sexuality Central, it really seems like this post belongs over there. When you say "this forum" I'm pretty sure you're meaning Fetish & Sexuality Central, not GLBT Chatter, because I haven't noticed any of the things you're talking about over here. Talking about gay issues doesn't automatically belong in the GLBT Chatter forum if you're talking about them in relation to F&SC forum participants. So I'm going to move the thread over there.

However, I do want to say one thing: LindsayRae was absolutely right in reporting the violating images to the site owner. F&SC has no moderator currently, so clicking the Report button on any post does indeed go directly to Laurel and Manu, the admins. Could she have been a little less brusque in her post saying she had done so? Sure. Could she have contacted the poster directly instead of using the report button? Sure. But she is under no obligation to do so. The report button is there to notify moderators and admins of posts that are violating the rules. That picture (which is still there in a quote; I've reported that post now so the quote can be edited) was violating the rules. She wasn't being a tattletale, she was helping us out - Literotica is extremely active and we cannot be everywhere at all times. There are some folks who report violating images in GLBT Chatter and BDSM Talk (my two forums) too, and I am deeply grateful to them for making my life easier. Other people contact posters directly, ask them to remove the image, and I never even know about it. I love when people help like that. There's no punishment associated with the post report, it's only so we become aware of the post and we can edit it. So what you see as a "little tattletale bitch" and a "fucking little rat," I see as somebody making my life a lot easier. The rules are there to keep Literotica functioning. I appreciate people who help with that.

Dude, since you've visited the general board You must know that complaining about the trolls is an utter waste of time. Lit is a free speech site, and the owners interpret free speech in ways that I personally would not-- but it's their sandbox, and their rules.

Whilst not wanting to comment on the specifics of this overly much (except to say that this part of the forum does seem to be the right place for this discussion even though it's not directly a fetish in and of itself, as it discusses stuff that relates to fetish threads), I think the overall sentiment of this post is pretty reasonable. Obviously anybody who is in a "minority" of one kind or another can feel a need to get defensively aggressive or even pre-empting some supposed future discrimination, but this does not tend to win you many friends. I agree that "straight bashing" is really little better than "gay bashing" and will do little to convince anyone of the rightness of your position. If people want respect, they could perhaps put their position across respectfully.

The specific person you defend here has not always been especially nice about my opinions, but I don't think that's any special cause to be especially mean to him, otherwise things would just descend into really serious mudslinging. I would add, as well, that I had no idea that this was the rule about posting images. Although I haven't felt a need to post any myself, I think it would be better to tell people they have broken the rules and have them take the images down themselves before informing moderators, simply to foster better relations and understanding between forum people. I know that those posting against the rules are in the wrong, but we all know that we rarely check all the terms and conditions before doing things, simply pointing out the wrong doing should make any sensible person happy to rectify it themselves now they are aware of what they have done.

Exactly. The whole point of this part of the forum is to celebrate the weird things that make people's desires and interests different. That should be celebrated, not judged. There are plenty of threads here about rape and incest, things that I, frankly, find pretty disturbing as fetish fuel, but I simply don't bother going into those threads and getting pissed off by them.

Feel free to start your own forum (there are free hosting sites, with off the shelf solutions that will let you do just that.
The thing with this forum isn't that some are immature- it's just that there are so many people that you're bound to run into n you'll disagree with. It's the nature of the beast. If you don't like it, seriously, the only solution is to start your own forum and vet everyone...

There are, of course, ways to deal with trolls, and you can google them, but I dunno what it'd take to implement them on lit's existing architecture. There could be a voting system for posters, where x number of negative votes would single one as a troll (cap the vote at 1/person/day) and establish some...reasonable threshold (I dunno what that'd be).

Anything else goes. You may post whatever you like. Consequently, so can everyone else. The administrators here don't believe they are anyone's parents nor are they anyone's Jiminy Cricket. It's not their responsibility to make sure that everyone on the site uses free speech responsibly. It's up to individual users to be responsible for themselves. For those who are not, the programmers at Jelsoft have added an ignore function for your convenience.
