It’s always a little galling (not to mention hilarious) for those of us on the right to reflect that the Democratic Party — the party of slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, and family-destroying social programs — the party of Detroit, New Orleans, Newark, and Baltimore — the party that facilitates a black abortion rate that would bring a smile to the face of Planned Parenthood’s genocidally racist founder — has somehow managed to sell itself to African Americans as the friend of black people!




But it’s beginning to be equally galling (and equally comic) to reflect that the Democrats have also contrived to present themselves as the party of women.

This is the party whose most powerful senator left his probable mistress to drown after a car accident; the party whose most popular living president is a serial philanderer and accused rapist; the party whose most prominent woman rose to that prominence by virtue of her stand-by-your-man loyalty to a louse; and now the party of Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer, two men who have humiliated their wives with truly creepy behavior and yet seek to continue their political careers regardless.

We all make mistakes and it’s not that the GOP hasn’t got its share of sexual shenanigans, but the Republican establishment doesn’t routinely make excuses for its recidivist miscreants or make icons of their victimized spouses. The Dems…? They seem to think their political agenda somehow excuses their personal behavior. I joked on the Ricochet podcast last week that the party’s new slogan should be, ”Women — We Treat You Like Dirt, But At Least You Can Kill Your Unborn Children!”

George Will made an observation on ABC's This Week Sunday that shouldn't have evoked laughter from his fellow panelists and host.

"If these two people, [Mayor Bob] Filner in San Diego and [Anthony] Weiner here, were Republicans, this would be a part of a lot of somber sociology in the media about the Republican war on women"


GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS, HOST: He seems to be talking about that as well, George, and maybe making opposite calculation from what Steve says, that if he stays in the race, even if he doesn't do all that well, it's sort of flushed through the system.

GEORGE WILL: I will not dwell on the fact, although it is a fact, that if these two people, Filner in San Diego and Weiner here were Republicans --

I don't know about you, but I don't think it's at all funny that the coverage of these sex scandals would be different if the guilty parties were Republican.

That's part of the problem in our country, not something to be laughed at.

Remember what Democrats used to do to black folks that left the plantation in the old South? The practice still exists today in a different form.

Florida has long been a stronghold for the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. During the Great Depression klan membership saw a decrease nationally. Florida however remained strong Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa had the most powerful klaverns. In 1939 Hiram Evans, former Imperial Wizard, testified before congress that Florida had the strongest realm in the nation.

Post WWII the Ku Klux Klan saw a revival intiated by Dr. Samuel Green, an Atlanta doctor, who formed the Association of Georgia Klan. The revival spread to Florida and six other states. On election night 1948 Florida Klan paraded from Lake County to Wildwood to show support for Dixiecrat Presidential Candidate Strom Thurmond. In 1949 Klansmen held a motorcade through Tallahassee. Newly inaugurated governer Fuller Warren, was a former klansman. A bridge was later named in his honor in Jacksonville. Also in 1949 klan power grew quickly particulary in Orange county, ranks included prominent lawmen, businessmen, and elected officials. Apopka and Winter Garden had a high number of membership including the Cheif of Police, Constable, Nightguard, and Justice of the Peace. Seventy-five percent of Apopka's male population was klan.

The biggest growth for Florida klan was in the 1960's when the Civil Rights movement swept the nation and Jim Crow laws were enacted. Jacksonville remained as the strongest klavern. Nathan Bedford Forrest high school a former all white school in Jacksonville is named after the first Imperial Wizard.

Today, we are seeking men and women who want to become a part of the rich klan tradition in Florida. You can make a difference and change the demoralization of our great state. Protect the future for the youth of today. Give the tourist a reason to come to Florida. We have more to offer than Disney, Bike Week, and miles of sandy beaches.
