If all reports are accurate than he's a homegrown terrorist, plain and simple. I don't buy that he was insane or unhinged, not now that I've read that he cleared out his apartment. It was planned, he knew what he was doing.

I hope he doesn't get the death penalty. Put him in prison...in a military prison. Someone will take him out in the manner he most deserves. And yes, I know, pure vengeance. Sometimes that works too.

I also would be hesitant to describe this as an act of cowardice. After all, the guy did put his own life on the line. Most of the victims were unarmed, but there are always going to be some soldiers, such as MP's and sentries who will be packing heat. I'm certainly not okay with it, but I think we should call it what it is.

Guess what? Your hero isnt one of the dead. But 13 are, and another 30 are wounded. I call that a cowardly ambush. If he was a brave soldier he'd have attacked men with weapons, maybe shot his way thru the secret service to get at the people who make policy. He picked guys getting shots and physicals, and youre okay with it.

IMO it's cowardly because yes, he knew there would be someone armed but this wasn't a fight, he took down unarmed men and woman knowing they couldn't fight back. If he'd gone on a shooting range and opened fire...well no, that would be just crazy.

The court case around this is gonna be a mess. I can just imagine all the crap his lawyer will bring up.
