The Republican War on Voter Registration

how many times do you feel, illegals should vote?

what about dead people?

should terrorist members of the afl-cio get more votes per person?

Illegals and dead peeps should only get one vote.

Public service union peeps should be allowed 3 votes.

We should not allow more that 500 votes to be found in the trunk of a car.

Billy clubs around polling places are legal.

Does it really matter? If wrongs are being committed, then these wrongs have to be addressed.

yes, it matters.

Except for some very rare, local cases, I havent seen any studies that suggest voter fraud is a real problem.

Although, I would like to say Im not opposed to an entire overhaul of our voting system. The republican primary shows how disorganized the voting process really is.

All of the proposed laws aimed at making it more difficult to register and vote are a solution in search of a problem.

The incidence of voter fraud in this country is insignificant. To waste tax-payer money on this boondoggle is stupidity of epic proportions, surpassing even the stupidity of Bush's second term.

Tell ya what... if you showed up at your polling place after work, only to be turned away because someone already voted "as you," you'd be pissed and wonder how someone could vote as you.

Virtually everyone has a driver's license. A small percentage of voters would need a State Issued ID card. So the cost to tax payers is insignificant.

Do you have any proof of this happening on any sort of meaningful scale?
Of course not.
But hey, let's spend millions of dollars to implement more laws... afterall, that's what you like, isn't it? You're a big government hack.

I'd bet that if ID was not required to buy beer, that there would only be a very small handful of law breakers....not enough to worry about....

And, hey, if not, then the worst-case scenario is, now there's a whole lot more drunk teenage girls around! :D

Oh brother. Are you aware that illegals are voting? Make everyone show an ID card. Such a simple solution. Why fight it?

they are? link?

also, again, I am totally for an overhaul of the voting process, however i think harping on "voter ID" is simply cherry picking on an actual problem.

The fight is simply over getting the government to issue these IDs to all legal residents either free or extremely cheap and quickly.

i'm not sure if you are more insane or ignorant than Merc. Which one is it?

In 2008 SCOTUS ruled 6-3 for voter i.d. in Crawford v Marion County (Indiana)

Not that this is happening, but you would cast a provisional ballot which would be then validated.

And how is the ballot verified, exactly? You know I want to so say ID, so just say it.

So what? In the case of twins and triplets should we require fingerprints before allowing them to vote even with proper ID? They could easily be switching places for any reason whatsoever.

And how is the ballot verified, exactly? You know I want to so say ID, so just say it.

It's verified by ID. Not necessarily photo ID. And it only has to be verified in cases of suspected fraud.

You still can't find any measurable amount of voter fraud going on though, so it's a non-issue.

If a person casts a fraudulent vote and no one detects it, did the fraudulent vote occur? Of course it did. It is happening.
