I have lived in Central Texas for the last 5 yrs and I think that UT just might surprise some people this year....

OU/UT

As a UT student, I would like to point out that unlike OU, which only has a good football team, every sport at UT is good. Our academics are top notch, and there is not a better town in the country than Austin. I know OU is having fun blowing out the Iowa States of the world, but as UT showed in the Kansas State game, we can actually beat teams that are ranked. I know you think Jason White is great, but when his annual ACL blowout comes along, you're screwed. Also, the only reason you have beaten us the last few years is because of Quentin Griffin, and that Chris Simms is a statue who has to be babied by the offensive coordinator, who also sucks. I like UTs chances this year, we have Roy Williams healthy, and Vincent Young is a freak of nature and this Saturday may be his official coming out party, not predicting that, but I also wouldn't be surprised by it. This should be a great game, and as always UT-OU weekend can't be beat. Hook'em Horns, and remember, you can't spell cOcksUcker without OU. (This also works for lOUdmOUth dOUchebags)

I'm not going to argue OTHER sports or academics, but I can say that OU has beat a number of ranked teams, Washington St., Nebraska, Kansas St. [twice in 1 yr ] , Florida in a bowl game that they could only score 3 pts., and TEXAS in the last 3 meetings among others. As a result, they have fans all over this country including Montana and Texas !!!!
BTW we know what UT will do with the ball on 4th down[ after facing the #1 defence] they will live up to thier signature........ pUnT

Well, putting an "m" instead of a "p" was a typo, I was just typing fast and had a brain freeze. OU is number 1 because before anyone played a game a bunch of sportswriters decided they were, and then their schedule is such that they haven't played anyone. Just remember last year when Reggie McNeal and Brad Smith killed you, Vince Young is better than either of them, and he has better receivers. Although I do think that both of us need to watch out for Tech, especially you guys since you have to play in Lubbock which is not an easy place to play. I hate OU, but you're still better than the sheep f*ckers/dog worshippers that are in College Station.

If you were to actually read the post, you would find that I was making fun of A&M (That's why I said they were in College Station, not Norman). Having voters decide on who is #1 is not the way to go, although we'll never see a playoff because too many people make too much money off of the bowl system to change it. It's funny that you make fun of UT's academics considering that we are a Top 5 Public School in the country, and OU is nowhere near that. Most of the people who I know that go to OU applied there because they knew they had no shot of getting into UT.

Actually I did read the post and I never said you were talking about Norman. I had no misunderstanding that you were talking about College Station. I was merely refering to the fact that we dont have any "sheep f*ckers/dog worshippers" in Oklahoma. Something that evidently doesnt hold true in Texas. I wouldnt even refer to OSU like that. Prior to learning that Texas was full of "sheep f*ckers/dog worshippers" I really liked the state. Considered it just under Oklahoma in all things great. I guess I am going to have to reconsider that idea.

Lets see I noticed you were the #6 ranked school for Hispanics.

Everybody else on the web had UT listed around 54 in the country. That was all schools public and private so its not that bad, but it still isnt 5th.

I think its funny that you believe in the ranking system for schools, but not for sports when the concept is basically the same.

Most of the people who I know that go to OU applied there because they knew they had no shot of getting into UT.

So what are you saying? Texans dont have very much confidence in themselves or they just dont test well.

Myself, I figure they just got tires of slumming and decided to move on up.
