I liked Diamond Age, but it wasn't quite as good as "Snow Crash", and "Cryptonomicon" was one of the best I've ever read. He's a great author.

I have to say, though, that you must be outtayerfrigginmind to find Lord of the Rings boring.

All three books are mazing but I just though the Diamond age was the best because of the stlye its written in and the ideas he used....but all three are very very close. Can you believe I finished Crptonomicon in less than a week? 900 pages yikes!

Nope, but I've had a lot more time for reading lately. I'll be on the lookout for them at the bookstore.

Check out the "Anubis gates" by Powers and "Only Forward" by Smith...excellent books!

I'm not showing off but I managed to read all three books in two week's, which is fast for me, I've read the hobbit about five or six times in all.

G.R I just can't wait for the films of lord of the ring's to come out and I think I'll go to the cinema to see them rather than wait for them to come out on video, anyway gotta go now as I'm bushed, see you on the flipside...

Thank you, I'm actually a very slow reader as I didn't learn to read or write until I was 13yo, a few years ago I worked as a machine operator in a print work's ( night shift, long hour's very boring ) ans I managed to read 38 sci-fi books in one 8 month block, but these day's I'm lucky to read 4 or 5 books a year.

Ask for more - I read Anubis Gates, it was pretty good.

I recommend Steven Pressfields Gates Of Fire.
Historical adventure, very well written concerning
the greek vs Turkish battle of Thermoloplye
(and i cant confirm ive spelt that right.)

Hmmmm, those are the ones I've read recently and therefore foremost in my mind...but if it's the written word, be it in a book, a magazine or on the cereal box in front of me as I eat breakfast, I'll read it
