Bidenomics Boomerang: Hunger explodes on Joe’s watch as 10 million more fall into food insecurity

USDA report latest sign of the impact of inflation under the 46th president.

By John Solomon

he number of Americans suffering from hunger and food insecurity exploded by more than 10 million under President Joe Biden, according to a U.S. Agriculture Department report this week that provided fresh evidence of inflation‘s impact of a basic staple of life.

The report found 44.2 million Americans were living in food-insecure households in 2022, compared to 33.8 million the year before.

“From 2021 to 2022, there were statistically significant increases in food insecurity and very low food security for nearly all subgroups of households described in this report,” USDA reported Wednesday. Officials noted that economics were a key factor on food insecurity, particularly cost.

Meanwhile, back at the implodiing ranch, the left continues to gaslight Americans on the virtues of Bidenomics.

Pass the child tax credit permanently as Biden wants. That will take care of a ton of this. That's half the reason why the number is inflated.

I am going to go with the Fed and the Banks are Americas problem. It's always been the case.

Republicans in the House voted to allow Covid-era extra food allotments for SNAP to expire.
The average SNAP payout per month was reduced about $95 per month per household.
Naturally, Rightguide blames President Biden for the actions of the Republican House.
This is one of the main reasons everyone laughs at Rightguide.

If "Food Insecurity" is not related to poverty or packing on pounds to obesity and beyond... then it can only be another made-up bullshit term, thrown at stupid people to get them to agree with whatever waste of money you're promoting.

Thanks for clearing that up!

They are overweight because eating healthy is expensive in the US. So the crap you eat in a food desert which do exist in many places is bad for your waist line. Its not a bullshit and helping these people get more healthy food is a good thing and something we should have been doing all along.

Sigh. I just tire of us continually having to take 3 steps back to explain food insecurity, gun control, healthcare, social safety nets to people who ask of us rhetorical questions only to not offer up solutions and worse to derail our (your) common sense recommendations.

There has been significant increases in food insecurity for a long time. It’s mostly discounted since it mostly affects poor folks, and the supposed “people’s party” is too busy yelling about Hunter Biden to do anything.

Plus, where you found the 21-22 data seems things improved from 20-21. So your champion, the Cheeto, has some explaining to do. (Leaving that out eh? Shocker!)

Honestly a good plan would be let the government set up stores in food deserts. Nobody should be doing the bulk of their food from Rite Aid if for no other reason than they cost more than they would at a Vons or Walmart.

We really need to get rid of this attitude that the government can't do anything right.

We could call them *SMASH & GRAB* outlets.

Well said!!

They all share one common trait. A "simple mind" which is looking for a simple solution to a complex problem....

I can't find the article to link, but I did read one today in which the author has stated that many large chains are using "theft" as the reason for the closures, but the reality is, theft loses are on average still only 1-2% of profit, which is on par with loses 20 years ago. Instead of taking the blame for issues that are really driving profit loses, such as poor marketing, mishandling inventory levels, price gouging and overall poor customer support/service. They use "shoplifting and theft" which is an easier sell to the shareholders.

I'll keep looking to see where is was, and if I find it, I'll link it.

Generations of the top 1% getting cush tax cuts, committing white collar fraud, and increasing the wealth gap and they still succeed at convincing the peons who know nothing of minimum wage increases or cost of living adjustments to blame ourselves when one of us steals bread from the mouths of decadence.

^^^^^^^
Dammit! Let a great pun slip away!
I shuda said - When one of us dares to go to the temple of the dog and steal bread from the mouths of decadence.
Hate not sticking the landing!
