For Racing Fans, the late Dale Earnhardt #3 and his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., #8, in the Red Budweiser Car, is the drawing card for sports entertainment.

Tonight, at 7pm Eastern Time, US, on ABC Television, Earnhardt Jr., must win, must lead the most laps to qualify among the top 12 race car drivers for the championship which began last February, if I recall, he is now rated number 13 and will not qualify unless he wins or places in the top three with other things considered, as I understand it.

I am a recent convert to Nascar racing, as, although I played baseball, football and basketball, do not appreciate anymore the paths those sports have taken.

So for you race fans, get your fat ass to the market, get the “Brats” and the Bud, fire up the grill, tie up the kids and the dog and get ready for the big one, not quite, but almost, the ‘Superbowl’ of the season.

I also like Carl Edwards, who does a backflip when he wins, Casey Kahne, who is a pretty boy, Hamlin cuz he’s new, hate Pablo Montoya and Robbie Gordon cause they’re bullies, love Mark Martin cause he’s an old fart and won’t give up.

So…any NASCAR fans who are perverts also?

Grins…

Amicus the inscrutable….

I've always like Martin for some reason. He mostly winds up in sixth place. I've wondered it he drove a 2 or 1 car if he'd finally pull it off one year. He's been close a time or two. Always a top ten.

Not only does Jr. have to lead the most laps and win, but Kurt Busch or Kevin Harvick must finish in the mid 30s. If they finish any better than that, he can't place 12th even if he does win and lead the most laps. I'm a big Jr. fan, but I doubt very seriously he's gonna make it.

Oh, Mark Martin is now slated to run part of next season in the #8 car for DEI.

Mark does get around don't he. :D

Next year will be a whole new ballgame with the car of tomorrow running all the tracks. It's going to level the playing field between all the teams. From one car to the other the only differences will the the nose and the motor. Things are going to be interesting to say the least.

The car is stronger, heavier and less aerodynamic. You won't have to have a different car for the different tracks. One to race and one backup can run any and all tracks. The multicar and wealthier teams are going to lose a big advantage. Plus the driver is going to play a bigger role in the cars performance.

As for the chase, well there are 8 chevys, 2 fords, and 1 dodge. Last year was top heavy with fords. NASCAR leveled the playing field a little to much but it's their ballgame.

So whose your favorite to win it all. I figure Tony but there are a few dark horses in the race.

What about Toyota. Didn't I read that Joe Gibbs was going Toyota? And who's driving the Hyundai car?

Yes Joe Gibbs will be fielding Toyota's next year. Basically a nose and tail pieces change and of course the motor. That's what's great about the car of tomorrow. Toyota ain't hurting for horsepower just a top team to pull it all together. Toyota is getting one hell of a deal.

Hyundai Car? Did I miss something. :D

Just a small whisper from a ghost, lol.

I like Jimmy Johnson. I think he's one hell of a driver. Hubby is a die hard Jeff Gordon fan. I can't stand Tony Stewart or Juan Pablo Montoya. Though Tony drives well, I think he's an arrogant asshole.

I wish Jr. much luck in making the chase. I'd like to see him there for his last year at DEI. (Next year he joins Johnson and Gordon and will make that team even harder to beat.)

Now, back to the darkness and the time vortex.

Tony is not near as bad as he used to be. He's toned down a lot in the last couple of years. I don't like Juan Pablo either. Neither does my hubby.

I'm still upset by the fact that Jr couldn't take Bud and the #8 with him. I think it sucks big time.

Also, Jr's crew chief, Tony Eury Jr. will be going to Henrick with him.

Be interesting to see how competitive the Gibbs team can make Toyota. Go 'Skins!
