I'm not ashamed to admit it- I prefer peace to war. I think that the case for immediate action has not been made. I believe that continued inspections in Iraq are an appropriate course of action. I acknoledge that these inspections have been gpoing on for a long time, but I also acknowledge that they have produced and are continueing to produce results. I am willing to consider war as an alternative when it has been clearly demonstrated that there is a clear and PRESENT danger to the US, and that inspections can no longer further the cause of peace.

Flame away. I reserve the right to ignore anyone I want to in this thread.

*lights the torch* ;-)

I prefer peace to war as well, I have many loved ones and friends who are over there right now.. or have just received their orders of deployment.

But how much longer do we inspect? He's had 12 years. No we aren't in immediate danger, but once the inspectors leave, once our troops pull out.. does anyone honestly think that he'll stop?

I'm also curious about the humanitarian aspect of it all. What about the Iraq people? What about helping them out, finally, after having to live under his regime? What about all of the families of those he's murdered?

I really need someone to pull me back into the fluffy light.. lol

Is posting to threads like this a lack of common sense, or a lack of intelligence???

Does the fact that you quoted me mean that I'm not on your ignore list yet?

Is Oussie Dutch for Aussie?

Or is it fringe instead of being inssie?

Any sane, rational, human being prefers peace to war, having served six years in the Air Force, I certainly appreciate that.

When it becomes inevitable, not necessarily acceptable or even right, but inevitable, there comes a time to support our military and our government.

That logic could be used to justify any act of aggression in history.
War is never inevitable, it is not a force of nature, but a creation of men. And no one can reasonably argue that a war with Iraq is inevitable. If it comes, it will come because it was desired by those who launch it.
