One of our unrelenting schools of philosophy is that we do not have free choice
that we are not individuals, that we are just individual cells in a society
and as such we are not truly free to be "selfish" but must conform to
the spirit of self-sacrifice and understand that you don't really "own"
that, it is a collective holding which you are being allowed to possess
and you most certainly did not build that: it took a society...
 
There is a happy medium somewhere between selfish and selfless. A lot of you Randian assclowns couldn’t find that place with a map.

Unfortunately for selfless authoritarian control freaks there is a medium between liberalism and authoritarianism too...and in the USA selflessness just doesn't rise to the level needed to justify force of authority. It always has been and hopefully will continue to be an individual choice to be charitable or not.

First one for sure, second maybe but for the vast majority I disagree.

Most Randian types are quite charitable, they just think it should be up to the individual to decide how much of their money to give and who/what causes to give to.

Not government forced....not under threat of punitive action by the state....because USA, not USSSA.

They also tend to understand the difference between charity and state forced wealth redistribution and generally do not attempt to conflate the two, much less do so on a regular near daily basis like the left, ;)

even understanding the differences between Aristotle and Plato and
the impact that they have had upon society, the former more briefly,
and with greater progress for mankind than the latter who has
