Speaking of Israel/Palestine: Did anyone hear Bush state in his speech tonight that the Palestinians deserve a state of their own. I think that was an interesting statement to make in such an important speech. Maybe America is realizing how fundamentally flawed some of our policy has been in recent years. Granted this wouldn't be unconditional, but it shouldn't be.

So give them the West Bank as their own state of Palestine. Why the hell is everyone fighting over living in Israel? It always reminds me of a quote attributed to Golda Meir: (paraphrasing) "Israeli's have no great love of Moses. He lead us through the desert for 40 years to the one place in the Middle East that has no oil..."

Giuliani hates the Palestinians -

He had Arafat thrown out of a concert at the Metropolitiam Opera House, if I recall correctly, during a UN event a few years ago. The Prince put him in a tough spot, and I have to wonder how he could not have known that Giuliani would do that. This won't help matters with Saudi Arabia, but what the prince did was rude; there can be no strings on a contribution like that (unless it comes from Congress, which is always attaching strings).
