The Pope Has Passed on.

A few verses have come to me, that I hope people find comfort in and see some hope:

"But let me tell you something wonderful, a mystery I'll probably never fully understand. We're not all going to die--but we are all going to be changed. You hear a blast to end all blasts from a trumpet, and in the time that you look up and blink your eyes--it's over. On signal from that trumpet from heaven, the dead will be up and out of their graves, beyond the reach of death, never to die again. At the same moment and in the same way, we'll all be changed. In the resurrection scheme of things, this has to happen: everything perishable taken off the shelves and replaced by the imperishable, this mortal replaced by the immortal. Then the saying will come true:

Death swallowed by triumphant Life!

Who got the last word, oh, Death?

Oh, Death, who's afraid of you now?

It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three--sin, guilt, death--are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!

With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don't hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort."

1 corinthians 15:51-58 (The message)

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may also be."

The Gospel of John seems to be a great comfort today.

The wheel has turned. Peace to the suffering. :rose:

Luck to us all,

Yui

The only pope i've known in my lifetime. The only one i've seen in real life.

God have your soul old man. You deserve the rest.

I may not have agreed with him, but I respected him so very highly...but if there is a heaven, it's now going to be a better place. :rose:

I'm not a Catholic, I'm not even religious but the Pope did so much good around the world both publicly and behind the scenes you have to admire and respect the man.

My only critisicm was his stand against contraception in the struggle against aids.

All said he will be a very difficult man to replace and sadly missed by many outside the catholic faith!
