The Polls

I think polls should be outlawed.

Election day is going to be VERY interesting.

I'll be glad when it's over, one way or another. Someone's got a "honk if you're voting for McCain/Palin" sign across the street and OMG I'm so sick of the horns!

(Maybe we should use that as a poll? Would be about as accurate... )

The media loves a horse race.

But the polls arent measuring human nature, theyre measuring assumptions about people.

IF the kiddies and blacks bother to vote, then the polls are more or less correct and Obama wins. IF blacks and kiddies stay home, like they always do, then McCain wins and the polls were wrong.

Something about this election smells fishy to me. I see Obama's numbers and the enthusiasm for him, and dont believe any of it. No nation that elected Dubya twice is likely to elect a black, liberal-pinko chalky perfesser from the hood. UNLESS Pelosi and Friends are conspiring to steal America blind then leave Obama holding the bag. Obama may be the fall guy.

Apparently Obama's ahead in early voting results in Arizona (yes I know that means very little come next Tuesday). Some are starting to classify Arizona as a swing state in this year's election. Goldwater's family officially endorsed Obama, along with other key Arizonans both red and blue.

The reason I bring that up? McCain's own state appearing to back away from him this late in the game is only going to hurt his chances more. How would it look to those who support McCain (or at least believe he'll win whether they support him or not) if Illinois appeared to be backing away from Obama?

KATYUSHA

Yep.

No one inside the GOP admits to supporting McCain, yet there he is, the official candidate. Florida's governor chased McCain like a tom-cat in lust, but is now keeping his distance.

This whole election makes no sense to me.

"Even if 100% of the people polled like Hobbit movies, they still suck!"

Threadjacking to applaud you on your quote. Nietzsche and his elevation of the individual over the collective have always inspired me. Some of his other ideas were less inspiring, but his notion of the individual as creator of his own moral code is the ultimate expression of human dignity.

I'm pleased McCain lost. Its sad that Obama and McCain are the best America can do. If Obama fucks his golden opportunity, he'll be a one term wonder...like Johnson and Carter.

I agree with what one pundit said last night: This isnt about Obama, its about the repudiation of the Republican centrists...like Bush and Dole and McCain. McCain lost because he pissed conservatives off, and we didnt vote for him when he needed us.

Right. You hear that Republicans!? You keep on being the crazy radical evangelicals you are, ok?

I mean it, now! :D

I signed us up to be the first to share our wealth with Obama. You can thank me later.

Thanks.

I put that there for myself, really.

Sometimes I get very down and start thinking about how much easier my life would be, how much happier I would be, if I saw things the same way almost everybody else does.

Those times, that quote helps. And I've been having one of those times.
