In the Beginning was The Plan.
The Plan gave way to assumptions, and the assumptions were without form.
The Plan was completely without substance. A darkness fell upon the faces of the Marines.
They spoke unto their Sergeant and said:
"The Plan is shit and smells like shit."
The Sergeant went to the Staff Sergeant and said:
"It is a pail of shit and none may abide the odor thereof."
The Staff Sergeant went to the Master Sergeant and said:
"It is a container of excrement and it is very strong, so strong that none here may abide by it."
The Master Sergeant went to the Captain and said:
"It is a vessel of fertilizer and none may abide its strength."
The Captain went to the Major and said:
“It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong.”
The Major went to the Commanding Officer and said:
“It promotes growth and is very powerful.”
The Commanding Officer went to the Commanding General and said:
“This powerful new plan will actively promote the growth and efficiency of the unit and division in particular.”
The General looked upon The Plan and saw that it was good,
This Plan became Policy.
Even though this is written from a military point of view, does this relate to your job?
