Zambian Man Goliath Nyirenda Found Guilty of Deadly Sex with Chicken

The court heard that on November 18, 2012, one of Nyirenda’s neighbors was woken up by the sound of a chicken. The neighbor, Gift Michelo, went out to investigate and witnessed a panicked Nyirenda throwing the bird through a window.

Michelo then retrieved the chicken and realized that it was his, and that it showed visible signs of being raped by Nyirenda. The animal later died of trauma.

Magistrate Tiwilili called the offense “serious” and said it could carry a prison sentence as long as 15 years.
