It seems to be a basic division among Lit writers (and readers): Should these stories be fantasy or reality? Personally, I come down on the side of fantasy (though the fantasy should be believeable, or at least logical). That's why the women I like to write (and read) are as sexy and physically perfect as I can make them. But there are plenty of other writers here who insist on more reality in their settings and in the women they describe. Keep reading, they shouldn't be that hard to find.

The notso Perfect Woman

I don't go into great detail when describing my characters for just this reason. I don't want to describe them as the barbie doll cheerleader type everyone seems to "want" to read about, but I also don't want my reader thinking that my ladies are ugly.

I am working on a story about a not so perfect woman, because it seems to be in high demand right now. I was thinking that a theme of the story could be her low self esteem, but in the male's eyes she's absolutely perfect.

They're out there. Keep on reading and you'll find them. Good authors match the characters and their characteristics to the role they are to play in the story. Always keep in mind that erotica not only titillates the mind, but the body if done well. We are conditioned to crave beautiful, attractive people. That being said, people's fetishes, peccadilloes and personal preferences vary widely. One person may love thin, waifish females and another think of them as anorexic sacks of skin and bones.

In the end, you'll find that there is something out there for everyone. Keep at it, my man. You'll find what you seek. And when you do, drop the author a line telling her that you liked the work, what you specifically liked about it, and that more writing in a similar vein would be much appreciated.

If she knows that there is an appreciative audience out there, she will be more likely to create the types of stories you like.
