Scientists did a study a while back to find the "perfect" voice and apparently Alan Rickman came top. He had a fab voice but for me it has to be Richard Burton hands down. I also think the Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo has an amazing voice. Oh and Mariella Frostrup

So who would you vote for?

I vote for vocal range and versatility. There are plenty of one trick ponies.

I could listen to Alex Kingston read the dictionary. Her breathy, seductive timbre and the English accent. Oh my.

As for guys, it would have to be Liam Neeson. When he spoke as Aslan in the Narnia films, it was totally convincing.

Morgan Freeman has the golden voice for narration. I love documentaries with his rich deep voice. Been a fan of his since I was a kid and enjoyed watching him as Easy Reader on The ⚡️Electric Company⚡️. (Hey, you guys!)

Jennifer Tilly's voice used to do things to me, but normally it's Scottish or some English accents that turn me on.

Out of that lot, Alan Rickman for sure. I love Daniel Day-Lewis’ voice as well.

Are there any younger actors that fit the bill? Everyone listed here is older than sand in the desert!

When Ken Burns does a documentary, there is a singular voice among many.
Peter Coyote

"Here, if you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake, and I have a straw. There it is, that's a straw, you see? Watch it. Now, my straw reaches acroooooooss the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I... drink... your... milkshake!"
-Daniel Plainview-

Alan Rickman had a distinctive voice, but he sounded like he had a permanent cold. Scarlett Johansson is the younger voice I'd go for.

Any woman from Scotland does it for me.

Shirley Manson from garbage has a great voice (singing and speaking)

Haven’t heard Emma Thompson in a while, but she used to have a nice voice.
