Lovely work! There is nothing more beautiful than the form of a woman. It doesn't matter the method in which they are portrayed.
So do you work in the field of art? You're very knowledgeable and well versed.
I was in downtown Philly once. The historical section. I drove. It was rush hour. I loved it. Taxi drivers constantly blowing their horns. No I don't, but I spent many years living in Philadelphia, and the Art Museum was (and still is) one of my favorite places to spend time.

You should have started your post with "long time lurker, first time poster..." I'm a little disappointed tbh.The Barnes had just moved. I was there in August 2012. It was only my second trip to Philadelphia, so forgive me for forgetting the Scrolls were at the Franklin Institute but you are absolutely right
If I am being perfectly honest, if you'd shown me one more fucking Renoir at the end of visiting the Barnes, I'd have set fire to it. But I would love to know the thought processes of whomever commissioned Soutine to paint a family portrait! Those images have stayed with me. And the colours of the Van Goghs...
It's an Alexis Diaz mural. Not tentacle porn. He's an Internationally renowned artist from Puerto Rico.At first I thought "awwwww an elephant!" but then I saw all the trunks. People have posted way too much octopus/squid porn for my mental health.![]()
I know, it was a joke. It's an Alexis Diaz mural. Not tentacle porn. He's an Internationally renowned artist from Puerto Rico.

He's a super cool guy too. Like you meet him on the street, and ask if he'll look at your portfolio, and he totally does.I know, it was a joke.![]()

Bashi-Bazouk by Jean-Léon Gérôme
Another amazing piece where one can't help but be drawn in by the depiction of the materials. The gun barrel, the material of his jacket, the ivory pommels on his chest, the embroidery... It all looks incredibly realistic. This .jpg doesn't do it any more justice than the last two I posted. Honestly, everything Gérôme did was truly impressive.
