It was well past 1:00 in the morning when Kendra stumbled out of her Uber, her purse dangling from one hand and her heels dangling from the other. Barefoot she meandered up the drive way of her uncle's house and around to the back door. The back porch light was on, but she still fumbled with the key for several moments before finally getting it in the keyhole.
Once she was inside the kitchen, the petite redhead, dressed in a slinky black dress, did her best to tip toe through the darkened house. Unfortunately, the alcohol in her system had other ideas, causing her to catch her purse on a chair that then banged against the small table in the corner of the kitchen. Kendra eventually gave up on freeing the purse from the chair, deciding to just leave it.
As she left the kitchen and passed the living room, her heels still clutched in one hand, her other hand on the wall to provide some stability, she realized that there was a light on in the living room. Glancing up, the redhead saw her uncle sitting in an armchair, a book in his lap and what seemed to be a disapproving look on his face.
"Oh, hey, you're up late," the eighteen year old said, trying to sound casual, not realizing that she was only bringing more attention to the fact that she was coming home so late.
