NOTE: I'm very fond of creating hypothetical scenarios like this one & telling them to people (ex. I often post 'em on another, non-erotica board I often frequent). I posted one on the General Board, & was told that this might be a better place for it. If this is succesful, I'll probably post more. Please note that this isn't REALLY a story idea, & although it can be one, it wasn't really designed for erotica purposes, although, again it can be.

Thru act of ROB(Random Omnipotent Being) you are to be given one & only one, of the following gifts:

1. You will become ruler of the world's most powerful & proseperous nation (not neccesarily one that already exists, mind you). That is, you're being offered Power.

2. You will become the smartest, most knowledgable, etc. human being who ever lived, ever will live, & is currently living. In other words, you're being offered Wisdom.

3. You will meet & marry the most perfect possible partner for you. Basically, you're being offered Love.

No trying to use one to achieve the others.

Which would you choose?

Wisdom, of course. Then I would realise that Power and Love are both illusions.

Love because neither of the others would satify. They would only increase appetites. Wisdom would not give the ability to acheive . Power would not bring happiness, just lonelines.

Like the closet romantic sap that I am, I choose love.

I don't want power, not like the way you described anyway. Look at what it does to our presidents. Forget about the corruption and all that stuff, just look at a picture of bill clinton when he entered office and look at one when he left. Or check out a pic of W when he started and a pic of him today. That kind of power takes such a toll on a person, I wouldn't want it.

I suppose that if I were to look at it selflessly, I'd choose the wisdom, and spend my time on earth curing diseases and making cars that run on oatmeal and crap like that.

But love, goddamn I know I would take that. Sometimes I think it's easier for me right now being alone because at least I'm not dragging anyone down with me, but to have that perfect woman I dream about... that would be paradise.

What good is too much Wisdom? No one wants to be around a know it all. What good is Power? As Sirhugs said it just brings loneliness.

Love is the only answer for me, of course think of all the complex things that might happen in a persons life if they were to answer that.

What if he/she is already married and the perfect person for them isn't their spouse? How do they deal with that?

What if they have been single for so long and are so despressate they don't care if the person is really perfect for them or not and the R.O.B. tricks them and gives them anyone? Maybe they end up in a situation they never wanted to be in just because it's better than being alone again?

Wisdom

With wisdom all other parts of your life would fall into place because you are, "the smartest, most knowledgeable, etc. human being who ever lived, ever will live, & is currently living."

Wisdom is more than smart it is emotionally smart too. The combination would be perfect and lead to wealth and happiness.

:D

I chose Love, because without it, wisdom and power are merely window dressing.

I'd choose hyper-intelligence, which is altogether different than wisdom. With that gift, I could contribute to the store of human knowledge. Power, I have no desire for. I want to be a Wizard alone in my obsidian tower. Romantic love is primarily a literary device.

There really needs to be a none of the above. What makes life interesting is the search for love, intelligence and wisdom, sadly you find love, if you ever do of course, then find intelligence, wisdom comes so late you can't do anything but go damn if I had done this instead of this I would be happier. Which is why Mark Twain said, 'Youth is lost on the young.' ;)

Besides what do you do after you've found out everything, or understand everything, I know what you do with the one true love, you keep him and you out of clothes whenever possible. :nana:
