Nikki smiked after the kiss before heading into the kitchen. "Axel...he's here."she said. Walking over to the door and opening it. Letting Orion out before Axel joined her. His father walked up to them before stopping in front of them. "Son."He said. Luna began to squirm though Nikki got her to calm down. Leading them all back inside to the living room. "A friend reached out to me about the issue. I am sorry.....thisis my fault. I wish to help."he said.

Axel didn't respond with open arms when he called him son. Axel listened as he talked once they were inside he said "alright thank you for agreeing to help. I know you didn't have to come back here since you left the pack. I appreciate you trying to help resolve this." He tried to keep things professional while they waited for the elders so they could discuss the plan for seeing the northern tribe.

Nikki stepped out of the room as they began to talk. "I get it....no need to hide it. I cared deeply for your mother....When I found out she was pregnant...i had to disappear for her safety but she may not have told you this. But I was there the night you were born. Though I told her and we agreed on me not being a part of your life. Though my one request the camping trip....so I could still my son grow up. Choosing the spot where I met my soulmate. She told me about the cancer....i wish I was there with you both but I had to keep you safe."he said. His father knew thatwas the price he paid for not being there.

Axel sighed and said "I understand. I don't forgive you but I u derstand. My mother still loved you despite you not being there. Now though because you ran and hid now my daughter your grandchild is in danger we need you to come with us. To make my place in this pack real so her place is real."

His father sighed then nodded his head. "Grand child? That cute little girl is my granddaughter."He said. He smiled before the elders came back. They all sat down and went over a plan. Hours went by before everyone agrees and the elders left. "I will be back in the morning."he said. His father left as Nikki cane down the stairs with Luna. Handing off their daughter as she headed for the kitchen. "Hun...how did it go?"she asked.

Axel held luna as Nikki worked on Dinner. He said "we have a plan together hopefully with any luck we can convince the northern tribe I belong and by extension Luna belongs. Then we can put all this nonsense behind us." He thought for a moment and said "Nikki was I being to harsh saying I couldn't forgive him?"

Nikki stopped then looked over at her husband. "You have every right to be mad but he's back in your life. I overheard what he said."she said. She walked over and stood in front of Axel, placing a hand on his cheek. "Those camping trips were is way of seeing is son grow up. Your mother was only trying to protect you. He was there by your mother's side the night you were born. He is here now to make things right. For you and Luna. Your mother did what was best for you to keep you safe."she said. Pulling him into a soft kiss. Smiling as she headed back into the kitchen. Continuing dinner and placed Orion's plate on the floor. "After dinner....I have a shaman coming over. To bless you and Orion....more importantly so you may connect with your mother's spirit."she said.

The look on Axel's face made her smile. "She has been with you all the time. I can sense her."she said. Nikki finished up dinner and put it on the table. Taking Luna and placing her in a highchair.

Axel smiled and said "I really am blessed that you found me that day. Or rather fortunate that fate seemed to bring us together." He kissed Nikki before sitting down to dinner. Enjoying the time with his family.

Nikki had a big smile on her face as they ate dinner. Having Axel help clean up before they gave Luna a bath. Nikki fed Luna before rocking her to sleep. Just in time as the shaman arrived. Nikki put Luna to bed before letting him in. Thanking him as they stood in the living room. Calling both Axel and Orion over, once over the shaman began to bless them. After they all sat down, "Your wife said you may need some guidance. A spirit lingers around you.....your mother. She is happy you met your father but you are not. Please explain."He said.

Axel sighed and said "I...wouldn't say im not happy. Just conflicted. I've heard why he had to leave my mother but I just don't know if I can forgive him yet. I grew up watching my mother chase a man who was barely in her life. Going camping so apparentl he could see us from the shadows. Then she got sick. She died I understand she loved my father but for the longest time I thought that her love was blinding her to a chance at a permanent happiness with someone who could be in her life when i couldn't. I just a part of me wants to condemn him to keep judging him but then another part of me wonders if I really have the right to do that."

The shaman listened carefully before nodding his head. "She wants you to know.....they loved each other. As a human you do but this gives you the chance to learn about your past. Do not shut the door on him, your mother begs you not to. Know he did visit her before she passed. She did not tell you as fate broughthim back to her. Like how dare brought you and your wife together. Hear him out Axel...that is your mother's wish."he said. The shaman soon left before Nikki lead Axel upstairs. She changed for bed before crawling in. "I hope that helped hun..."she said. Though she was sad she knew he would be leaving in the morning. Trying her best to hide her sadness.

Axel listened hearing what his mother wanted tried to fight back tears. He eventually got control of himself as Nikki lead him upstairs. He held her to his chest and said "it did help thank you." He kissed her deeply knowing he was leaving in the morning. He said "we should be back before the full moon. When we are back it will mean our little moon can be safe and free to not have to hideaway."

Nikki clung to Axel after the kiss. "Yes but I'll miss you and so will Luna."she said. Nuzzling his chest as she knew he had to go. Pulling him into another kiss. "Just come home safe...both you and Orion."she said. Soon letting go and crawling into bed before snuggling up to Axel.

Axel smiled and said "I promise." Holding her till both were asleep when morning came he got dressed meeting with his father and the elders that were going to plead his case outside. He sighed and said "father did you sleep well." Not really sure how to begin trying to mend there relationship.

Nikki woke up the next morning to see Axel was gone. She raced out of bed and put her robe on. Nikki grabbed Luna before heading downstairs. She walked out to the small porch to see the group. Standing as she saw her husband with his father. "I slept good though looks like someone needs you before you leave."he said. Soon pointing to Nikki and Luna.

Axel went over to Nikki and Luna. He said "I'm sorry I thought you should sleep more. I'll be back soon love." He kissed her deeply before kissing Luna on the head. He called Orion over to his side before leaving with the others.

Nikki wanted one more kiss before he left. Once they headed into the woods, Luna began to cry. Nikki headed back inside with her, calming her down. Soon feeding her before Nikki made herself breakfast. Sighing slightly though knew this had to be done. As the day went on, Nikki tended to Luna. Getting her to play and even roll over. Yet she noticed Luna became antsy, and scooped her up. Nikki began to rock her them realized she was probably teething. She got Luna a toys to chew on as she rocked her to sleep.

Axel traveled north with the pack and his father. Orion staying at his side the whole way. Eventually they came to the edge of the northern tribes territory. Several wolves appeared from the trees growling a warning.

The tribe was now on edge as the northern tribe appeared. Their elders soon walked up, "Leave...we don't like half breeds here." Orion began to growl as it was very tense. This wasn't going to end well, Axel's dad stepped forward. "Tell Amia that she needs to leave my kid alone. I left her years ago."he said. The tribe chuckled though a sister tribe appeared to help Axel. "You all know the traditions we were raised on...he killed our brother so he must pay. Plus that little bastard child he has....she has to go too."

Alter took in a deep breath and said "you have proof of my lineage I am from the blood of the pack that makes me part of the pack. That makes my daughter even more of the pack than I am since her mother is from the pack as well. I did kill one of yours but only in self defense he attacked first. There are witnesses from this pack and our sister pack that can attest to that. I don't want any more blood shed from either packs. Ive heard how low our kinds numbers are should we really be shedding wolf blood over something so trivial. Im asking you all to see the big picture and let this go."

The northern tribe wasn't having it at all. "No...you are still a half breed. You bastard child will die. We only want pure blood in this tribe. The other tribes should follow it too. Numbers don't mean anything." Yet the northern tribe was smaller compare to the tribe and the sister tribe. They were willing to fight for their cause at any means. "We will fight....and you will die."

Axel sighed and said "is there really no way to settle this peacefully? I ask you one more time." He looked out the corner of his eye at one of the elders from his pack. The plan was already in place if the northern tribe wouldn't agree to piece the sister tribe was waiting to attack the smaller tribe from the flank. The two packs would be able to take down the smaller pack. He hoped it wouldn't come to that though.

There was going to be no other way...fighting was the only way. The elders signaled the sister tribe before the fight broke out. It gave them the advantage they need but the northern tribe put up a fight. It was nasty one two. Many ended up with scratches or bites. Though one wolf from the tribe laid seriously injured....Orion. Nikki flinched as she felt it before beginning to tear up. She was able to put Luna down for a nap.

Axel shifted back ugging the injured wolf against his chest. He said "we need a healer hurry." Trying to remain calm he could feel Orion's pain through the packs link as he said " it's going to be okay." Not sure of he was trying to reassure Orion or himself.

The tribe raced to get Orion back to the house. Someone helped Axel carry Orion, though Nikki was trying to stay calm. Seeing the tribe, Nikki raced out of the house. In tears as she saw Orion, having them gently down. Wanting to keep Luna away as a healer appeared to help. Though it was no use as the wound was too deep. Nikki heard Luna crying as she went and got her. Coming back and sitting down, Luna snuggled up to Orion. Soon Orion took his last breathe, Nikki broke down crying and so did Luna. Comforting her daughter as she the elders took his body away. There were going to have him prepared to be buried.
