Nikki was out for her usual run for the, racing through the trees. Coming to river to get a drink. Thankfully she was deep in the woods. To far for any hunter to even try to hunt. Occasionally you get the brave and daring soul that adventures out for a camp out. However, the outside world has no idea the secret communities hidden in the forest.

There is a reservation located on the outside of the forest but most choose the more private life. Nikki was raised in one of these communities with her sister. Padding over to a rock, Nikki laid down to rest a little.

Hank Peruvax loved the woods, he didn't really know why, there was just something about camping that he loved. Being out, away from the world, alone with his thoughts in the peace of the woods, that was his heaven. Most people didn't come this deep into the woods, choosing to stick to the trails and campgrounds near town. Hank didn't do that casual shit.

When he camped, he camped for real. He made sure he was deep enough to lose all the bars on his cell phone, just him and his little camping kit. Sometimes he would hunt, but he had to stay on hunting trails for that. When he camped he was free of all restrictions and he could just let the worries of the world melt away.

He tried to get out at least once a month, though it had been several months since he'd been able to make the time to camp out. Work had sent him on trip after trip and he just hadn't been able to get away.

As he sat in his little make-shift site against a large tree, he sighed and leaned back against the bark of the tree, watching his small little campfire start to heat up the little black pot he placed over it to heat up the stew he had brought for dinner. The woods around him chirped with birds, and the brushing of small mammals through the brush.

It was perfection.

Nikki soon picked up on scent that smelt oh so good. Tracking it down to the source, the man at a small campsite. Sneaking closer and closer so she can get a better look at the man. Definitely a brave man choosing to be this far into the woods. Nikki soon laid down in the bushes as she watched him moved. Eying her soon to be mate. She couldn't wait to bring him back to her home though had no troubles visiting him here.

His scent was so enticing, having a hard time controlling her urges. Though she wanted to study him, he how he acted. Curious as to what his name was and why he was out in the middle of nowhere.

Though he was well versed in woods survival and camping safety, Hank had no idea that there was a very large predator in the bushes not far from camp. He did hear the small creatures in the area around him seem to grow a bit quiet as if they did not want to call attention to themselves.

He looked around but saw nothing and figured the campfire was chasing away most of the smaller critters. He leaned forward and began to stir the pot of stew on the fire, smiling as it would soon be ready.

Nikki could tell all other creatures stayed away due to her presence. Now smelling what seemed like soup. Not taking her eyes off the man. Though a branch soon snapped which caused her attention to break. A deer was walking through though froze before taking off. Nikki turned her attention back to the man before sneaking away. Shifting back into her human form, before heading for the camp. Fixing her shirt before she got closer, curious as to how he would react.

Hank had pulled the small pot from the fire, and set it on the stone nearby to cool. He heard branches cracking as he did so and he snapped up, in time to catch a glimpse of a deer or a buck darting away from his camp site. He smiled as the chirps of the smaller creatures began again as if no longer afraid of scaring away the deer.

He dug into his pack to pull out his silverware, when he heard the brush moving again. This time when he glanced up, there was a woman walking into his campsite. Hank snorted and stood up quickly, confused.

She didn't look like she was in trouble, she didn't even look dirty, so it didn't seem like she would be lost. Though her skin and dark hair suggested she might be from the Indian town not far away.

"Uh..Hello." He stammered. "Can I help you?" He asked still a little confused as to how and why a woman suddenly appeared before him.

Nikki smiled as she brushed some of her hair out of her eyes. "Oh no, I'm just passing through. That soup smells good."she said. Walking closer before she was standing in front of him. "Sorry not many people come out this far. So I just had to check things out."she said. Oh he was even more handsome up close and in person.

"I'm sorry, my name is Nikki. I don't mean to intrude it is just these woods are important to me."she said. Smiling still hoping this man would eventually come around more.

Her words suggested she was part of the Indian tribe that lives nearby. They were a people who were more in tune with the woods and nature in general than any other society remaining in the country. She tried to play off her appearance as just coincidence and made a remark about his stew.

He took a breath of relief and smiled at her. She was really rather beautiful, now that he could see her up close. Her caramel skin and dark hair gave her an exotic beauty unlike anything Hank had seen before.

"Oh yeah." He told her, "I come out further than most people do I guess, I like to get REALLY far away when I go camping." He stood and brushed his hands off on his pants, then held a hand out to her. "Nice to meet you Nikki, I'm Hank." He gestured towards the direction in which the Indian town lay, "Are you from the reservation?" He asked her.

"Uh yes.....but not the one you are thinking of."she said. Looking around before she sat down on a rock. "My home is about 20 miles away from here....deep in the woods."she said. Not wanting to reveal a ton of information right away. "Why is it that you choose way out here to get away from people?"she asked. Curious as to what he meant, living a sheltered life from the outside world.

Hank listen to her and didn't quite together the pieces of information she was giving him. He didn't think he was that far from the village to have her home 20 miles away, but perhaps she lived on the far side of town.

Hank shrugged at her question. "I have to deal with people in my job constantly, always having to be connected to the office via cell phone or lap top. I just like to come out here once or twice a month to, I dunno, disconnect. If that makes any sense." He explained.

He glanced at his pot of stew and then back to her. "Um..I think I have an extra bowl, would you like some of this before it gets cold?" He offered.

Nikki smiled as she nodded her head. "Why yes please."she said. Though she was curious if knew of the wovles that came through this area. "I kinda understand but I do not see very many outside the tribe. However, you know you are right in wolf territory?"she said. Wondering if he knew as they like to watch those on their territory. "Don't worry though the most they will do is sniff around then move on."she said.

Hank smiled as he dug into his backpack for another bowl and poured Nikki some stew. Then he dug out a spoon and passed both over to her. "I don't worry about wolves, I keep all my food in cans so they aren't tempted by anything except when I cook. But since there are plenty of deer and other natural sources for wolfs to eat, I don't think they'll bother me...At least they've never bothered me before."

He shrugged, "Worse comes to worse I carry a very large knife with me." He began to eat at his stew and glanced up, "Why are you walking around this far from home? You don't look equipped for camping or hiking."

Nikki began to eat as his cooking was great. "They are harmless unless they feel threatened."she said. Hearing Hank speak on how she wasn't prepared. Causing Nikki to laugh a little. "I was raised around here....I know these woods. Besides I go for runs out here."she said. Which she wasn't lying about as she was a werewolf. "However, I hope ypu are preapred for the storm coming."she said.

Hank blinked at her warning, "Storm? What storm? I hadn't heard anything on the news about a storm coming." He asked with a frown. "I'd hate my weekend to get fucked up because of some stupid rain." He told her as he watched her eat. He spooned stew into his mouth and pondered what he would have to do to pack up and head home due to the weather.

Nikki pointed to the tree, "The leaves are facing the other way. Means rain is coming."she said. Still fighting urges to just take Hank right here. "Look you can stay with me. I have enough room."she said. Finishing her stew before placing her bowl down. "Though I would have to sneak you in but that is no issue."she said. Smiling to reassure Hank that all would be okay.

Hank blinked as she explained the tree and the position of the leaves. He figured she must be using some sort of Indian science or weather telling, though he didn't put much faith in that. However as he opened his mouth to deny her offer, there was a gust of wind followed by the distinct smell of coming wet weather.

He frowned and dumped the rest of his stew into the dirt beside him. "So much for my getaway weekend." He muttered as he wiped out the pot before tucking it back into the bag.

To his surprise she helped him pack up his tent and pack, before urging him in the direction she had said her home was. "I get it is a good thing you came across me. I would have been trapped out here in the rain." He explained. "That would have been a shitty night for sure."

Nikki smiled before helping Hank pack up. "Yes but you are still getting away from people."she said. Leading him to a trail she used quite often. "You had good cover from the trees but you would have to deal with mud."she said. After some time they arrived to a small village. Cautiously leading Hank to her small house. Showing him where he could set his stuff down. "I can start a fire for us."she said. Getting the fireplace ready before lighting a fire.

To Hank's surprise she didn't lead him to the town, but instead to another smaller village that he didn't even know existed. Though he never came out to civilization nor the Indian land in his normal day to day so it made sense that he wouldn't know anything about the area. Another thing that confused him was how low key she was trying to be, when they got to her house she ushered him inside quickly. He wondered if her husband or boyfriend would be home to kick his ass.

He set his stuff where she pointed and looked around. It was a small cozy little home no bigger than some of the cabins that were back at the official campgrounds. Though it clearly had a personal touch with artwork of wolves framed around the home, as well as a rather soft looking pelt rug in front of the fireplace she busied herself at.

"This is cozy." He admired. "You know you kind of snuck me in here and I'm nervous. You got a badass biker boyfriend that might stab me if he finds me here?" He asked chuckling lightly.

Nikki soon found herself laughing as she stood up. "May be shocking but no badass boyfriend. Some of the tribe is unsure of outsiders. I live here alone."she said. Walking over before sitting down on the couch. "I get the occasional wolf but that's all the company besides family."she said. He could see her beginning to relax as she sat back.

"To be honest you are the first outsider to be in my home."she said. Thunder began to roll in as Nikki got up. Shutting a few windows before returning to the couch. "I have to ask why is it that you choose the woods to get away from people?"she asked.

Wolf? She had wolves here? Was she some kind of wolf whisperer? Hank didn't ask questions, as the fire warmed up the room he suddenly became very aware of the woman before him. He was alone with her, and she was far more beautiful than he had noticed before. She moved with a relaxed grace that didn't seem possible to him.

He swallowed and followed her to the couch, sitting on the opposite end of it from her as she asked him about why he chose these woods.

Hank thought for a moment, "I don't really know. Something about them I guess calls to me. I've been going to that same spot for years now. I love it. I get to turn off my phone and just let nature take me away, you know?" He explained, his eyes gently rolling over her form. His blood began boil throughout his body.

"I understand to a point, the woods are calming. Connecting with nature and becoming one."she said. Shifting a bit before they heard claws on thw wood floor. A wolf head poked out from around the couch, whining before Nikki reached over. "Sorry this guy here was released from the nature preservation and he doesn't have get great skills yet."she said. The wolf soon laid down in front of the fire. Looking back at Hank with a smile before scooting closer. "Don't worry he is harmless like a big puppy."she said.

Hank gasped at the appearance of the wolf. Nikki put a hand briefly on the wolf's head and assured Hank that the wolf was harmless. He watched nervously as the wolf moved to the fire and curled up in front of it with almost a sigh. He looked at her, his eyes wide. "You some kind of wolf-whisperer?" He asked.

He was starting to feel strange about all of this. The sneakiness in getting him to her home, the wolf, the odd questions about why he was in the woods in the first place. He took a breath and looked at her, "Who are you Nikki?"

"Yes and no.....I am part of the tribe that has a strong connection to wovles. I'm a daughter of one the very important leaders. I took him in when he was released as his survival skills were lacking."she said. Trying to explain before she gave too much information away. Waiting to reveal her true self to him. "So I have strong bond with wolves because of my ancestors. "She said.

Hank listened to her tail with interest. It made sense, especially if she was part of the tribe. Natives were a very mystical people with connections to the wildlife of the area, and the weather, and all sorts of other things. It was a life that seemed so much easier to him than his own, but at the same time it seemed so much harder as well. He didn't know how to feel about it, so he just nodded as he accepted her explaination. "Well not many girls get to say they've got a pet wolf. That's gotta be pretty cool." He smiled.

"Yeah until they interrupt you while in the shower."she said. Laughing as he could see she was even more relaxed. "They make great cuddle partners in the winter but they come and go."she said. Nikki gor closer to Hank as she watched the fire. "Wolves can be tamed but that wild spirit is still in them."she said.
