The only thing on my dinner plate that's not deep fried is the gravy

Just doing what I can to balance out the Lent thread.
 
I'm certain you could dip it in batter and flash fry it. It only makes sense.
 
I'm going with no, you can't deep fry gravy. The Texas State Fair has deep fried every possible edible and semi-edible thing - including deep fried butter two years ago - and no one has ever offered deep fried gravy. That's tantamount to scientific proof it cannot be done.

I'm not following? Chicken fried steak is flattened beef round, coated in a seasoned flour mixture, deep fried, and served with cream gravy atop. The gravy is made from the frond left after the steak is fried, but it is not itself fried.
