truly hate is.....

For me, the word I least like in the English language is

"whatever"

When used in some contexts, it means absolutely nothing.

"Yea." I hate that word.

But what gets to me the fastest is the no response at all. Ignore me and feel my wrath...

we have 1 word in our marriage we agread not to use...

"Whatever"

"Initialize"

What the bloody hell is wrong with "start"? It's the Dubya infection, I reckon.

"Kin"

It sounds dumb, but one of my professors (from the South) uses it alllllll the time, and each time it makes me shudder. The sound of it as stumbles off her tongue... It's just not common place around here, and I hope it never is.

Right now...fag.

My 11yo old calls everyone a fag. All the time.

He got popped in the mouth...hard...today. :)

"retarded". it's only ever used to hurt. My younger sister is learning disabled and I heard this word hurled at her daily, til she cried. this is also why I cannot bring myself to open the 'fucktard' thread as it is clearly a derivation.

There are lots of really vile words that I only ever see used in America (well on American telly lol). Nigger, fucktard, retard, faggot. Horrible words. Course seeing as Tony Blair is now perpetually ensconced up Dubya's arse, the British yoof are beginning to use these words too. It's a plague! Oh well. Fuckwits, eh?

I could be wrong...

but I dare say that actually American spoken language is much different than is portrayed on TV.

Or so I hope.

"relax"

in the context of when I am angry, this is the last word I want to hear

"irregardless"

It's made the dictionary now, but it's still redundant.

Ishmael

The word "axed" used in place of the word asked.

I think this a pronunciation, not a word, problem. If so, let me get out the Masshole Dictionary. I've got a running list:

Cah
Bah
Yahd
Kahkees
Sez

I could keep goin, but I'm sure everyone that's from the Boston area has seen at least one email about the way we speak.

Ya I would agree but it is so annoying I'm going to axe the next person on the street who axes me something.

OMG! My 6 yr old says that.( got it from his STUPID FATHER!)
Makes me want to smack him( And his STUPID FATHER!)

Ok i feel better now :D

The one word that I can't stand is....

COMPROMISE.

That means lowering your personal/national standards for someone/something else. Slaves are made from compromise, tyranny seizes power from compromise, terrorists thrive when we compromise!

Fuck Compromise! :D

Biotche instead of bitch

For god sake it sounds like some kind of new fungal disease that was just discovered.
