So, what do you think of Beth Hart?

Her song 'My California' was used in the Californication season finale, and it's been an earworm to me ever since.

Rick Wakeman v. Keith Emerson.

Who would win the cage fight?

Since when?

You seem like a nice enough guy, islandman.

I once wondered why it is that you are not with a woman. The ladies seem to like you and I don't believe you are hideous looking, judging by your partial face av you sometimes use, so then why are you still single?

Then you go and make a thread like this and it all makes sense.

You may not be gay, but the women in your life think that you are.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm just sayin that if you man up a bit, some doors, or even pee flaps, may open up for you.

Oh, and if you don't mind me asking...do you have an accent, other than a silly Yankee one?

Duno if it's a secret, but I'm pretty sure islandman has a longtime chick.

If it's a secret, sorry i-man!

Indie: why is it that 99% of non-stage pics taken of Ian MacKaye have him sitting down?

Of course. So long as your girl doesn't mind.

I've packed my things. Tell her I take up minimal bedspace and don't hog the covers.

If you're willing to baby- and dogsit, you're very welcome into our Cali-king-size bed.

But this isn't about our future plans together.

This is about dubious music and equally dubious opinions of it.

I hate that song. But I'm sure there are plenty of songs I like that you don't.

On an unrelated note, my ferrets hate that song too.

Where is that big hunk of man-love?

I have a question about his Chris LeDoux collection.

Hel-LOH! I don't see the words "Indiesnob" next to your posts!

where is that fucker?

he's going to have to work overtime sorting out these penetrating questions.

neil peart's drum kit vs. charlie watts' drum kit.

which wins the cage fight?

Never heard of her. Just checked her out on Spotify and listened to that track, and wanting to be a fair judge checked out some other tracks. Let's just agree to disagree on it.

Rick Wakeman v. Keith Emerson.

Who would win the cage fight?

I'll pick Wakeman. I could go my whole life without hearing an ELP song again, but I will say the first two Yes records aren't that bad.

Indie: why is it that 99% of non-stage pics taken of Ian MacKaye have him sitting down?

As much as I want to dislike him for his ego and constant straight-edge nonsense, I can't. He's very rarely seen looking like he isn't serious. I can only think of one photo where he's really loose, and I think it's one with Henry Rollins IIRC.

Bikini Kill vs L7. Who wins that cage fight?

Throwing a tampon is one thing (L7), but pissing off everyone in the world and that epic fight between Kathleen and Courtney Love (which I got to see!) at Lolla 95 gives BK the win.

Neil's is far more epic, that's fo sho'. Peart has great showmanship and technicality, but I honestly think Watts is one of the most underrated drummers. I think that's because he's not a showman when so many of the drummers of that era are, and when you're playing with Keith Richards, well, you're always going to be second.
