Welcome to:
The Official Authors' Hangout Summer Lovin' 2023 Contest Support Thread

A weekend at the beach, a campsite in the forest, a hike along the Appalachian Trail, cheap seats at the ball game, a bucket of beer and a back yard full of friends, these are all signs of summer and I'm sure you have more. While our friends in Oz are scraping frost off the windshield and thawing out the drop bears, up north we're tossing hotdogs on the grill. Either way nothing say summer like a hot keyboard and an overworked imagination!

Let's go!

Summer Lovin' (summertime)
themes: warm weather, summer activities, bikinis, etc.
Starts: August 18
Closes: September 8

winners announced: September 15

Please ensure you have
"SUMMER LOVIN 2023" in the Notes to Admin field.

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the 2022 Summer Lovin' Contest. Bring out the squirt guns, the inflatable mattresses, and the sunscreen, and open yourself to some sizzling summer Fun Times!

Just remember, it has to be summer related - not necessarily beach related.

As Ogg always tells us, there is an advantage to entering stories in one of Literotica's themed contests. Apart from the possibility of winning, your story gets far more exposure and attention than it would typically receive.

Wait for Laurel's notice of the start of the contest as a sticky at the top of the Authors' Hangout before submitting and follow the instructions in that thread.

Good luck and have fun!

My favorite contest. I have a few ready but I will space them out so as not to clog things up.

I'm almost done with my primary story, a crossover between my We're a Wonderful Wife series and my Stormwatch series and a well earned trip to the warmth of the Caribbean

I actually have a story already started for this one.
I originally started it for the "Pink Orchid" Challenge, but it would work here because it's being told by a woman in August while on a boat.
HOPEFULLY, I'll have it done in time.
I got about 6 or 7 different stories that I'm working on right now.

I am excited about this category...got a couple of stories mapped out...the slightly chillier weather here in Australia at the moment makes writing a summer themed story even more, well, hot.

All right! My story is finished, now for the polishing... it's going to need a LOT of polishing...

I wrote this one some time ago, and I'm not overwhelmingly fond of it. I kinda wish I'd come up with something better. But? It's what the Muse wanted.

I’m about halfway done on this one, a First Time story between a girl about to head for college and her older crush who’s back on summer break before his final undergraduate year. I expect to be done in plenty of time.

34 Days Until Kickoff!
Got your boogie board and pickle ball paddles ready?

Ok, my story is done, I'm going to let it "age" for a little while before I start editing, then I remembered a request that will fit in this contest nicely. Now let's see if there's enough time...

I doubt I'll do this one, because I'm working on a long one for the Crime and Punishment event. And way too many drafts on the go. But who knows - there's a little spark of a story set on a deserted beach that may grow into something...

WHOO HOO!

Story #2 is catching fire! I had promised this story to myself back in February and here we go!
This is great! This is great! It writes like butter. I mean, there is actual butter coming out of my pen.

This is starting to become a beach party! I'll put on the Beach Boys and get the volley ball net and beach balls out. @ChloeTzang, @TxRad Are you going to be joining us in the Summer Lovin' beach party this year?

I now have an idea that I think is worth pursuing, and will fit in the theme. Early drafting has produced some content that I think is readable.

I will just add myself to the madness here by joining in. I'm coming back after a 20 year hiatus.
I did the same thing. I started haunting this place around 2002, joined the forum in 2004, (met another author who has earned your screen name) and tacked a few stories on before RL caught up with me. In 12/2021 I started posting stories and having fun. If you have any questions this is the place for answers. So is the Author's Hangout coffee shop but the conversations there get... odd.

Thanks, Duleigh, I appreciate it.

I've finished a first draft. So much time yet to revise and submit. I expect this to be my only entry for this contest. The other pending projects are nowhere near this theme.
