Already a closet Liberal, with a big L, Charlie Rose on PBS television donated the 8/15/09 show entirely to left wing causes.
In his own inimitable, sly and slippery manner, (even I enjoy Charlie), he interviewed Dr. Harold Varmus, appointed in December, 2008 by President Elect Obama, along with 21 other notables throughout the world of science and medicine, to the “Science Advisory Panel”, directly advising the President on matters of import.
Among those issues being currently discussed, “Single Payer Health Care” is one Dr. Varmus says is a ‘must do’, along with fighting Global Warming, (Climate Change), free education for all.
More interesting was the blatant attempt by Charlie to press Dr. Freeman Dyson to recant his opposition to current global warming dogma. “Those scientists have jumped to unwarranted conclusions, global warming is a good thing for many people, for plants, for forests, CO2 is a blessing, not a curse and there is no evidence that the activities of man over the past 12,000 years have significantly warmed the planet, the planet takes care of itself, nature laughs at man…” (I paraphrase…but accurately)
Charlie was beside himself and flushed in the face as the 80 year old scientist refused to budge in his opinions.
Charlie had a ‘cameo’ appearance between the two above mentioned, that of Muhammad Hosni Sayid Sayid Ibrahim Mubarak, is the 4th and current President of the Arab, Republic of Egypt.
For the second time in a week on the Charlie Rose program, President Obama’s visit and speech in Egypt was mentioned, first by one of the founders of Al Jazeera, the Arab and English Broadcasting system headquartered in Quatar.
In answer to Charlie’s question, “Will Iran be permitted to have Nuclear Weapons?” The President of Egypt said basically, “If Israel is permitted to have Nuclear Weapons, why not Iran or any other Arab Country?”
Which tied in nicely to Freeman Dysons’ statement that: “…the United States should get rid of all nuclear weapons unilaterally as President Nixon did with Chemical and Biological weapons in the space of an afternoon. He did not negotiate or seek advice from Congress, he just did it.” (Again, I paraphrase from notes)
Now, I like Charlie Rose, I really do, as I enjoy many far left Liberals for their dreamy, pie in the sky attitude, that if only they were in charge of everything, it would be a much better world.

Last month he was tapped by President Obama to serve as a science adviser. ... Dr. VARMUS:
Freeman John Dyson FRS (born December 15, 1923) is a British-born[1] American[2] theoretical physicist and mathematician, famous for his work in quantum field theory, solid-state physics, and nuclear engineering. Dyson is a member of the Board of Sponsors of The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Dyson lives in Princeton, New Jersey, as he has for over fifty years.[3]
Muhammad Hosni Sayid Sayid Ibrahim Mubarak, is the 4th and current President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
