Hillary was so right-on when she came up with this name, and the fact that they respond when called by that name is a clear indication that they agree with and take pride in that description. You can't be very bright if you resonate with the Deplorable moniker.

We all make mistakes from time to time. I am genuinely embarrassed if I misspell a word, cite something incorrectly, or misspeak. There are folks here on this forum that easily brush off their errors of misinformation to come back in an hour or following morning with yet another post filled with the same seemingly willful ignorance. No one on the Left here does that regularly and would be quickly checked upon first post much less continuously behaving in that manner. Being contrite and saying sorry is something no one likes to do but I’ve seen it done mostly by those on the Left. This opinion of mine is anecdotal (see what I did there?) and based on me seeing Deplorables here daily, when cornered to answer directly, rarely defend, but instead deny, deflect, or disappear. It becomes a daily Whack-A-Mole of insanity. Blessed are the seekers of truth.

This is a profoundly uninformed and ignorant statement. There are many counterexamples to this, but I will stick to the one that I most familiar with.

Almost all of the underlying technologies and infrastructure of today's internet were built from government funded research, based on government defined specifications and largely developed in public universities, sometimes in collaboration with private sector companies (e.g. BBN) . From the fundamental idea and implementation of packet switching, to routing and delivery algorithms, monitoring and congestion management, to internetworking and fundamental application protocols. The private sector did not participate in the development most of these technologies until after the government had proved they were viable and a commercial market existed.

The private sector is a powerful force that provides many innovations and advancements. But it is not the only entity capable of this, and will often fight against such advancements if there is not an obvious or immediate path to profit. The public sector on the other hand does not have great tools for determining what innovations and advancements are dead ends and what are actual advancements. To say that the government can only work under the direction of the private sector is a false ideology.

The Right in America pined for this democracy to be run like a corporate business. Trump fashioned himself as just that President CEO. He had 4 years and succeeded in in acquiring wealth for himself and family and a tax cut to his high end donors and businesses that saddled America with a debt of almost 8 trillion or 25% of the debt total. He did that in 4 years.
