Ever read "World According To Garp"? That's how the title character came into existence.
Also, I could see a nurse falling in love with the giant cock on one of her patients. Every night, after giving him his sleeping pill and waiting for him to fall asleep, she blows him or rides him for a huge load. Then one of the doctors catches her and blackmails her into.... whatever.
Or maybe they really fall in love, both with each other. And they have to find all sorts of creative ways of having sex in the hospital room.
Or maybe she doesn't want him to get well, because that means he will have to leave. So she secretly damages him in his sleep, infecting his wounds and giving him the wrong meds, to keep him juuuuust sick enough to stick around, but not too sick to service her physical needs.

I wrote a romance story about a Former Green Beret who was wounded over seas and he becomes friends with his nurse and over time the friendship grew and the two characters fell in love.

Neat ideas.
Another twist would be if the man got put in the hospital by his cheating wife's lover in a physical altercation or by the woman herself and then he falls for the nurse. After that, reconciliation becomes totally impossible and he doesn't want it. He divorces his wife and marries the nurse.
Or at least has a hot and steamy affair with the nurse.
