I don't pay attention to NFL anymore. Are the Lions still shit?

Yep. QB position is holding them back. Unfortunately Jeff Garcia broke his leg and is out six weeks. So it's Joey Harrington again. But the plus side is they have a domed stadium. Favre sucks inside. Detroit's the play here.

They have one of the the best groups of recievers in the league-

...but nobody capable of getting the ball to them.

Maybe we'll run some reverses this year! :D

Why are the Overs the same as the Unders, or am I reading it incorrectly?

It never hurts to dream.

Think Patriots, you won't go wrong.

Drew can, if he doesn't throw too many interceptions, make the Cowboys a playoff team this year.

GB by 3 but the over/under is 46.

I'm not sure what way to bet on this. I'm tempted to take Detroit and the 3 but I might bet over. I think it's going to be a shootout. You?

No, the Lions are favored at home by 3, which means it's essentially an even pick plus home field advantage.

Neither team has gotten off on offense yet, and both D's look pretty bad too so far.

I expect the Packers to pull it together and run over them early, and then the Packers to miss a key tackle or two late to make it a close game. I figure the Packers will win, but in a tight one: 21-20 or something like that.

Some random thoughts:

Raiders/Pats.......Raiders w/Moss should get some attention. Beware of betting against Belichik with a month to prepare a game plan though.

Broncos/Dolphins.......Miami 3-13 ATS last 16 home games. Nick Saban's debut against an improved Jake Plummer.

Bengals/Browns.........Browns still blow but Cincy is a notorious slow starter going 2-9 ATS in Sept. games past 3 yrs.

Texans/Bills........Pathetic preseason for H-town. Buffalo passing game will struggle with JP Losman.

Titans/Steelers.....Titans come in under the radar here after a poor season last year and several free agents leaving. Both Bettis and Staley are hurt and Big Ben looked bad in preseason.

Packers/Lions......Farve and domed stadiums dont mix. Lions starting QB Jeff Garcia out six weeks. GB did nothing to shore up a bad defense and lost starting guards Marco Rivera and Mike Wahle

Rams/Niners........Rams clearly better team however on grass they're 3-12 as favorites.

Saints/Panthers........Line has gone from 5.5 to 7 due to hurricane and Panthers being the trendy pick to go to Super Bowl.

Bucs/Vikings.......TB 4-12 ATS last 16 road games, but Vikings 14-24 as a favorite since 2000.

Eagles/Falcons........Philly loses Buckhalter, Pinkston and Corey Simon, not to mention Terrell Owens drama. ATL, a home dog on Monday nite, looking for revenge.

That's the number Vegas has set for the total # of points for the game. In the Oak/NE game it's 50. A final score of 27-17 would make everyone that bet 'under' 50 a little bit of cash.

J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS! I've been seriously considering getting Directtv for teh NFL Sunday Ticket so I wont miss a Jets game,(unless I'm working,)again. That would ROCK!

Ahhhh... that's right. It's the Over/Under.

My bad... my brain is moving in slow-mo today.

And the Packers have done quite well in domes recently, though they got beat by the Colds last year, they won at Minnesota and at Detroit, as well as at Texas (who I think plays in a dome).

I'm gonna get that for the TV in my livingroom, well keeping Digital for my bedroom.

Re: Lions

I don't bet much anymore, but if I did...

If Detroit's the favorite, bet against them, ...but they're usually pretty good as an underdog (at least against the spread.)

Don't know if history confirms that, but I've seen it a whole lot over the decades.

Since we haven't had a decent QB since I was in short pants, you never know what team's showing up, so typical betting strategies are probably out the window. On 2nd thought, just stay away from betting them! :D
