The New Neighbors at Redhill House (OOC)

I sent a bio to the author via PM, for approval before posting it here, just in case it wasn't acceptable...if I get the go ahead, I'll put it up here. *smiles*

Alright if we can get one more guest we can start the IC.
One thing to discuss here though is the layout of the mansion. They've added a lot of customized rooms and secret passages when the workers renovated the house so each of the vamps has their own room made to their specifications. So perhaps something themed with your costume or with an array of your favorite toys and what not.

What's the male to female ratio?

Would it be more fitting if I played a male to even it out a little more, or does someone want a little lesbian couple?

Here's the Bio for my character...

Character Bio:

Name: Lucas Darrett

Age: 23

Appearance:
About 6' tall, and 185 lbs, Fairly handsome, Reddish-brown hair, green eyes, muscular body, but currently walks with a bit of a limp.

Background:

Lucas was the star running back in high school. He received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Wisconsin. He was a senior in college, and being scouted by a few pro teams, when halfway through the season, he took a helmet to his left kneecap during a game, crushing it and ending all hopes for a career in football. This was a over a year ago..he moved back home with his parents, and after several surgeries, his knee has been recuperating up nicely, although it still isn't at 100%. He wears a brace most of the time yet.

Luckily, he was fairly intelligent as well, and got a degree in Education while in college, and has been assured he will be hired on as an assistant football coach/substitute history teacher at the high school for next year, after he is physically ready to handle the job. Currently, he has been working at his father's hardware store, in the meanwhile.

It was his parents who convinced him to go to the new neighbor's costume party...since Lucas came back from college after the injury, he has been somewhat withdrawn, and aside from very occasionally hanging out with a few of his old high school friends, hasn't been dating or socializing much. So they figured a night of fun would be just what the doctor ordered....figuring maybe he'd meet a nice girl there...

Lucas isn't overly dressed for the costume party particularly, not being overly enthused about going in the first place, but doing it to placate his parents. He shows up at the party wearing his Wisconsin Badgers (#30) college football jersey, jeans, and work boots.

Hopefully the thread will become closed soon. Too many characters makes things chaotic and difficult to keep up with...especially with my post length.

I have to agree with Abra. As it stands I am still a little confused with all the characters and how they will interact with each other.

Can't wait to get it started though :D. Hmmm...gotta think of bedroom decor.

Sorry about the delay guys! Here ya go!

Name: Duvessa D'Silvio
Age: 560, appears to be 24
Nationality: Greek

Appearance:
Height:5'7"
Eye Colour: Hazel but turns golden when she feeds
Hair Colour: Long black curls down to her derriere

Background:
Daughter of a noble lord in life, Duvessa was married off as soon as was possible for reputation and financial purposes. She bore a daughter for her husband but was struck down at the age of 23 by a mysterious disease that would later be named the Bubonic plague. It ravaged her but she held onto her life longer than most, a mysterious stranger came to her bedside and asked her if she wished to live, telling her nothing of him. In her delirium she agreed to everything he asked and he made her a vampire. Out of bloodlust she killed her husband and three year old daughter before she managed to control herself. Later she ripped a bloody path of anger through history before she finally came to terms with her loses and her inability to raise a hand against her Sire - Lucian.

I'll respectfully withdraw from this thread. I don't have anything solid enough to cling to and have zero time. Maybe I can work with everyone on another thread.

I look forward to reading along.

Awww...that's a shame LitShark. It would have been fun to play.

Any ideas on what we are waiting on? Just another guest?

okay, the layout of the mansion I think will be a fenced grounds with decorative but still very effective spikes on top (to keep people inside) and a big heavy wrought iron gate that will be locked tight once all the guests arrive for the party.

A front garden with lots of Night blossoming Jasmine and statues of angels and demons, and an English style hedge maze in back. A large pond behind that and a wooded area reaching up all the way to the back fence. The long driveway circles around a large fountain in front of the main doors of the mansion.

Inside is a foyer with grand sweeping staircases leading to the second and third floors.

To the right is a hallway to the East wing of the mansion featuring the living room gameroom kitchen formal dining room. At the end of the hallway is the Ball room (where the guests will be lead to at the beginning of the party) with a balcony overlooking on the second floor.

Within the hallway from the foyer to the West wing is the lounge, an office, an art studio, a home theater room, a Gymn, and a spacious library at the end of the hall.

The second floor has the vamps bedrooms. At the west end is the second floor to the library. At the east end is the before mentioned balcony overlooking the ballroom.

The third floor is the store rooms for the coven's enthralled servants, an avary, and a tower where one could see the whole of the mansion and grounds by displays from the hidden cameras throughout the property.

In the basement is a dungeon with various medieval devices, a darkroom, a glass room, and an indoor grotto in case one feels like a private skinny dip.

I hope this provides inspiration or settles the setting a bit, though I left some of it vague for you to embellish upon with some of the decor and details. Also if there is any room anyone can think up that they'd like to explore here please bring it up.

I will give it another day before starting the IC is that alright with everyone.

Yes, quite alright. I'm going to cook up my bio for a human male now. But we have to make pretty darn sure that I don't end up with both my characters fucking each other. That would totally suck.

I like the layout, but I do have one question...well, more of a double check ...is the hedge maze tall hedges? That is what I think when I think of one of those, but I wanted to make sure so I don't look silly if write it into a post. :)

Yes, they're high enough to lose oneself inside. And with secret areas hidden inside the maze. Oh and I forgot to mention the secret passages throughout the grounds and mansion earlier.

I will be discontinuing my dealings with this thread, on account of personal differences. Thank you for the opportunity to write with you. I hope you all have quite the time.

Oh okay. I'm sorry for any issues that had arisen to take you from us so suddenly!

Well... take care Abra.

Now it seems that we have less humans now...

I can only hold two characters at a time, so I hope someone else could create a human.

Hey, AbrasiveYouth! Would you mind terribly if I stole your character?

It would save me the trouble of creating one.

Please?

Sorry to see you go, Abra. :(

Anyway, guess we move on then...still need 2 more humans then...unless the vamps aren't too greedy and decide to double up and share their meal on the ones we have at the moment. *chuckles*

I'd make a second, but in the past, when i've done two characters in a story, i always seem to tend to favor one character over the other, so one ends up written really well, and the writing on the other is a bit more mediocre because I'm more interested in my other character. Wouldn't wanna shortcut the story... *shrugs*

Hm. bummer.

Well, I wouldn't mind sharing a human....it could be fun. LoL

Veroe - I can write a human character. If the one I had created wasn't what you were looking for I can create another or adjust that character. No biggie. Or I can just play my vamp. I'm flexible. :)

I'd like to try getting some more people on board as the humans here but will keep that in mind Sia.

I've posted the two openings in the looking for players thread again...so we may get those positions filled soon you know?
