Thanks to a new found friend, a nuclear engineer with wide interests, I have recently been introduced to things I did not know, always a pleasant experience.
While conversing about the Asteroid belt beyond Mars, the Kuiper Belt and the Oort cloud, all capable of producing an earth orbit crossing object, he mentioned the 'Trojan" Asteroids and the L4, L5 equilibrium points. I made a joke about Condoms, the decided, since he was right about the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly, of which I was ignorant, I thought I better do a google.
I personally marvel at the science and math that can predict eight hundred years into the future, as in the case of Asteroid 1950DA, and the discovery of the Trojan and the Aeneid asteroids at a point of equilibrium, sixty degrees leading and following the orbit of Jupiter.
